Obviously, very few people are on the fence at this point. It’s a number so small that it’s probably not even measurable.
However, nights like tonight can and do influence turnout. It can serve as an energizer for people to go vote, and it can serve as a demoralizing knock out blow to already unmotivated voters who weren’t excited about holding their nose and voting.
These nights matter.

A generally disinterested but left leaning Catholic who was going to suck it up and vote for Harris might have something to say about that after she stood them up tonight.
There are plenty of people tonight may have impacted. No, very few if any were truly “undecided.” But I bet there are a chunk of people whose disposition can be described as borderline apathetic. Those are the ones both sides are trying to motivate right now.

It wasn’t just Trump either. Gaffigan definitely leaned into her not bothering to show up.
