*April 1st is census day
*May 1st the homeless survey is due
*June the survey of nursing homes, prisons, and student housing is due

The result of this census will effect the next 3 elections, with the Republican base being easily counted for.

Lets not even talk about the travel bans that keep many non=citizens from being included!! And the fear of census counters showing up to peoples doors unannounced!

What D chess are we up to with this one?

All those things would be great, except that millions of people are out of work. This is not his idea.

Democrats are trying to kill the economy. But Trump is going to be able to use this against them, come election time, and he really didn't even need any help.

When this country gets up off the mat, from all this corona bs, we're going to emerge more solidified on the right, and with far greater numbers of voters.

Maybe youre unaware of what the census does in regard to redistricting. People that are "estimated" reside heavily in blue areas/states. This in turn shifts more seats in conservative areas, making control of the House more Republican

House in Republican hands is much better for the economy

That's all fine and dandy, except that this is not how you do that. In order for Trump to have planned it the way you're suggesting, he would have had to have planned for China to release a virus, in the first place. Surely you don't believe that, do you?

The fact that this is happening during the census count is just happenstance. If it helps in some way, great. But there are a lot of businesses that won't recover from this, so I think you're really oversimplifying things.

Do you think "estimated" people somehow won't be counted? NO homeless are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn and Bayou Segnette State Park. They're going to be easy to find this year.

Uh, yeah. So no need to "estimate" how many homeless there are. We will have solid numbers because they wont be transient for the census months. Getting counted multiple times

Not surprised that youre not a chess player

Trump was never for a lock down, but asked what advantages are there, if we give in to one:

"Well, the census is going on right now. And its believed that census sweepers pad the stats with immigrants, homeless, students housing, illegals etc"

So Yrump allows the media to demand a national lock down, therefore you dont get census sweepers padding numbers, because everyone is easily accounted for. For months.

This is a decade long win. Like on a nuclear level. Right after lifetime appointment of judges

I think ‘unintended benefit’ is the term you’re looking for.

How is engineering an extended lock down, an ‘unintended benefit’? Wouldnt the benefit be anticipated if you reversed course, in order to gain a significant benefit?

This seems to be taken as a given, but do you have any data to support this claim?

Historically, GDP growth is significantly higher under Dem presidents, and the difference is even more drastic when Dems control the presidency, house, and senate. Same goes for job growth. Even Trump himself, back in 2004 when he still had most of his marbles, agreed that the economy does better under Democrats.

While this is an entertaining “gotcha”, I don’t really think it is fair to correlate economic growth with who is in office, mainly because economic policy can sometimes take years to actually alter behavior.

Seriously, STFU. I am a Trump supporter through and through but this kind of move doesn’t have sh@t to do with chess. This is a global crisis that Trump is working through day by day with his team. Right now we are a nation in crisis and things have the ability to spiral out of control way worse than The Great Depression. Trump isn’t playing chess or any other games right now, he’s focused on keeping this country together.
