just crossing the border without any resistance at all.

What's the nest cost of that, and what are the net costs?

Why can't we look at this situation with objective numbers, instead of approaching it strictly on emotion like a bunch of liberal women?

Perhaps some deep foundations would slow the tunneling efforts. The drug cartels will ultimately get around the wall regardless.

Nothing says "I want to look at it disinterestedly" quite like accusing people of being liberal women.

I've used the ground penetrating radar at work to look for voids and buried pipelines, after 5-6' it's not very useful.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the government has some technology a bit more advanced then what you have used at work. Hell, oil companies have figured out a way to determine how much oil is located miles under ground. I'm guessing we have something that would detect a tunnel less than 100' under ground.

why can't we ever get a cost benefit analysis to objectively determine if it's worth it?

According to different sources on Google - about an average of a $100 billion a year. The barrier is suppose to cost what, 10 billion?

Yeah, it's worth it.

Yeah, ima hafta upvote you on that one.

But quite honestly, that really seems to be the best way to convey my impression of the approach to the situation to people who seem to think they are objective and rational while liberal women are not.

This debate is totally dominated by emotion on both sides. I want to see rational numbers, a CBA. If it's so cut and dried, why is it so hard to put it in objective terms?

I understand the net immigration from Mexico has been zero for the past 2 years.

I would love to see how this number is derived. Texas, Arizona, and California certainly don't appear to be running out of Mexicans. That number could be for "Mexicans" but not for Central Americans.

When I am below the Border Patrol Checkpoint in South Texas, I feel like I am in Mexico Light. Hidalgo County in particular.

Yeah, that's always MY first source of CBAs for Big Government projects, "different sources on Google".

Let me help you with that...

I found this:

quote:

This report estimates the annual costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local level to be about $113 billion

Here:

LINK

...but that's only the cost. To do a true cost-benefit analysis, you have to compare the cost to the benefits.

So that begs the question, what are the economic benefits of illegal immigration? And why isn't the Republican CBA for the wall the very first thing that comes up when you google, "cost benefit analysis of building border wall with mexico"?

Based on the popular vote, how can that be true? Trump's plan is to have taxpayers pay the wall, then reimburse them. That's something Democrats plan.

The wall will be a huge waste of money. I like most of Trumps ideas but the wall is just fricking stupid
