It would be interesting to see if the entity that paid Selzer had a betting position on the race and after her poll was released, they had an additional betting position.

What if she was paid to put out the fake poll? That opens the door to election finance laws and possible election tampering. That seems like something worth investigating to me.
There's a reason bank robbery receives a higher punishment than other robberies. Preserving the trust in the system is more important than the financial loss. The trust in elections is equally important and worth the time to investigate.
