Like I said, I would love to reverse the shutting down of mental health facilities under Reagan
Wrong.
Deinstitutionalization began with court cases in the 1960s. Big push towards community treatment during that decade by the Left.

Who is going to pay for that?

With all of the fraud that's been discovered and ended and money clawed back including USAID and NGO's...there will be plenty to help fund cities establishing these institutions.

That's the treatment, along with lithium and antiseizure meds.

Reagan`s bad move got rid of it to save money back in the 80`s.

This should have been re-instituted a long time ago.

The overall crime rate would be drastically reduced.

While I can't stand Trump. This, I actually agree with. The privatization of mental health care is part of the community degradation that was set off by major homelessness. As someone who has worked in these institutions both state and private, its simply an overlooked necessity. It shouldn't be an easy thing to take someone's rights for their own, if not for the protection of others, but it should be easier than it is. The common sense balance has gone by the wayside and way too many are given the right to just wander when they truly need locked down help.

I have seen that environment be therapeutic and rehabilitative mentally for a number people. Just need the right people overseeing this for the right reasons but it needs to be done.

I hope they do this for nursing homes too...they are in a terrible state giving psychotropics to the elderly to keep them docile and then when their friends and family come to visit and the dosage isn't quite right (which it commonly isn't) they think grandma/pa have lost it when in reality it's the drugs.

Does your local news have a problem solvers team? If not, try to meet others who have loved ones in the same place and possibly file a class action suit?

Finally got through to the actual owners after about 2 years and then another year and a half of the medical review board dragging arse. Into full on litigation finally.
