The subject of this thread is - Trump advisors tell Trump to "stick to policy and don't make it personal".

A few weeks back, Trump said something to the effect of Kamala doing to America what has been done to San Francisco and is happening in California. It was a great line, and one that plays well with a general audience.

quote:

Kamala Harris has absolutely no legitimate policies at all and is saying she is going to fix stuff she has done nothing about for years. She said she would bail out rioting protesters burning down establishments years ago. She is a crazy extreme politician.

IF he would just focus on this message, he’d be fine.

But he goes into the aforementioned tangents on crowd size and his looks, engages in the childish nicknames, intentionally mispronounces her name, debates whether she’s “black” and says and does many other things that - again, while they might play
well with his base - reinforce the caricature of himself that plays right into the hands of the Democrats.

Umm he’s polling higher than any Republican in the history of our country.

I guess that’s not good enough huh? Not enough evidence for you?

For the debate, I'm starting to think he absolutely needs to do this.

He needs to be even more measured, calm than he was against Biden. Just hammer home points on the issues and stay away from name calling, interrupting.

That will drive Kamala absolutely nuts. She will be dying to land her 'I'm speaking' line, or whatever retort she'll have ready for a name call. I think it will frustrate her so badly, and catch her so off guard, she'll say something absolutely idiotic that will be the defining moment of the debate.

Rallies - hammer the shite out of her.
Debates - calm, issue focused.

right... kamala strategy is to bait DJT into making it about personality.

I would like to see DJT call out the media or Kamala (during the debates) when they bait him into making it about personality. I'm not advising, just expressing what I would like to see. "Look I know you would like to make this race about personality but we have big issues to solve in this country. Can you ask me a question about policy?"

Trump talks about policy all the time, in nearly every single public appearance in fact. People just choose to remember the personal attacks and forget the policy talk.

Saying ____ is the greatest, best, amazing, insert hyperbolic number or _____ will be the greatest, best, amazing isn’t really talking about policy though.

He doesn’t have to be a drone but a more disciplined discussion wouldn’t kill the guy.
