This deserves its own thread besides the would you do Mrs Dell one.

quote:

President Trump announces Trump Accounts will be expanded to EVERY SINGLE CHILD in America

Over 70 MILLION accounts will be opened for children -- up from the current 8 million.

Every child could be sitting on HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars by the time they turn 18.

The Treasury seeds the account with $1,000, and parents can contribute up to $5,000 per year.

Gotta give credit where credit is due and this is a good one. I hope future presidents continue on doing the same. Yea i know more fiscally responsible folks already have some kind of savings acct set up for their kids but that’s a very small percentage of parents.

It is, if it was done correctly, it could completely replace social security.

Great program and opportunity but the $1000 is still only for children born between 2025 and 2028 if I understand correctly. My son was born in 2023 and has an account but recieved no government deposit.

Great way to shove billions more over to wall street to keep those record annual bonuses. Artificially bump the market with more taxpayer money as debt soaring to > $50 Trillion by 2030.

Check your kids account, I just read that any kid that didn't get the initial $1000 and live in a zip code where the median income is less that $150k annually should've received a $250 deposit from the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. I just opened ours and sure enough the $250 is there.

Can we do retro ones for older people who may not get Social Security money? Asking for an older friend.

If the SSI would have been run correctly those institutions may have been happier but people would have been wealthier
