What's spurious is the delicate balance of nature. Nature is nothing if not cataclysm and tumult. Nature is ebb and flow. Nature is drought and flood, fire and ice, upheaval and subduction. Nature is dramatic production, which leads to cascading pestilence, disease, death, and very often extinction. People want us to worry about what is relatively a thimble full of CO2, while wildfires and volcanoes produce mountains of the same.
