I've said this for years.

An anorexic can be objectively considered emaciated, yet they perceive themselves as obese. This is an internal dysphoric view of self which defies reality.

Transgenderism, similar to anorexia, isn't an issue of outward acceptance (others being accepting of a person) but of a resistance to inward acceptance (accepting one's self). This is evidenced by transgenders having some of the highest suicide rates regardless of whether they are "out", pre or post-op. Their attempts to force the world around them into participating in their delusions are nothing more than attempts to avoid dealing with the point that their true issues are internal and not external, no different than an anorexic stating they are "so fat".

Because transgenderism deals with being viewed as the opposite sex, the permissiveness-of-all-things-as-an-attempt-at-avoidance-of-conflict Leftists mix this with sex and sexuality to create a bizarre and ever-changing set of rules in order to try to create a platform which says this behavior is natural and normal, even for kids.

If you really want to see how crazy such dysphoric conditions can be, check out Body Intergrity Identity Disorder (BIID) (ie: trans-abled; those who think they should have been born with some sort of handicap, like being paralyzed or missing a limb).

Until/Unless we can ever find a specific neurochemical imbalance AND remedy (if such even exists), we're far better off in going with the "you need professional help" (to help them accept themselves as they are) rather than trying to justify and normalize their dysphoria by demanding the rest of the world by into their unhealthy delusions.
