No, goddammit! We finally get a win and Marky pulls this shite?

JUST IN: Haitians who have been in the U.S. for years under Temporary Protected Status can apply for permanent residence or for a temporary visa, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said Sunday.

However, Mullin stressed that approval for permanent status is not automatic.
Applicants with felony convictions, pending criminal charges, or those who have become dependent on taxpayer-funded social programs may not qualify, he said.
Those who have worked and followed U.S. immigration laws could be eligible, but each case would be reviewed individually.
Dont see any issue. Let the Ds defend the criminals yet again

Well he is good buddies with his fellow OK Senator Mr Open Border Lankford. Hopefully Trump lets Stephen Moliller make the calls. But being able to apply and getting granted are 2 different things.

I can apply to become a member of Augusta national golf club also. Let’s see who gets their application filed in the dreaded “file 13”. I would guess most if not all of them. The conditions for consideration will be tough as they should be.

You’re more optimistic about this than I am. Let’s see how many are denied and actually deported.

Yes, but the SC just greenlighted giving these decades-overstayed 'temporary' refugees the boot.
We should take the opportunity to give it to them.

Same. Give the current crop of Republicans the opportunity to f*** this up and they'll take it.

Pulls what? Of course they can apply. That's not a guarantee of acceptance.

Whats wrong with that, if they apply, are vetted, proven they contribute to society and are not be a drain, why wouldn't we allow them to stay.

Haitians have opened restaurants and work hard. Cubans should also come.

No shite, I'd much rather someone thats contributing to society than the leaches, many of them US citizens, that we have.

Let them go back to Haiti and apply like anyone else. They shouldn’t get to cut the line just because they have abused the TPS.

I’ve read that 65% of these Haitians are on government assistance. I don’t know if that includes Medicaid, Obamacare premium assistance, or anything like that. But anyone who has accepted government assistance over the last five years should be summarily sent back.

This is a good way to get their current address so they can be rounded up, deported and put on a slow leaky banana boat back to their sht hole.

Tis statement works 3 fold
1) it paints the picture to the judicial system that the US governement will work with TPS applicants on a case by case basis, and not cart blanc deort them
2) it forces those here to come out of the shadows and file their current location. if they fail to apply to stay, then Immigrations can immediately deport
3) if they are on government services. criminal past, they get deported
