Can you even imagine as a kid, who loved playing with GI Joe and other games involving "war", with your very own set of rules, that you would one day grow up and work with the Chinese regarding real warfare with "rules of engagement"!

Then there’s retired Adm. Bill Owens, a leading American figure in the initiative who also became a Huawei consultant, built a company to market Huawei equipment in the United States, defended Huawei publicly and urged America to treat China as a friend while questioning arms sales to Taiwan.
No, that does not prove every retired officer involved was bought. It proves something almost as damning: Washington normalized a CCP-linked access channel even after it knew exactly who was standing on the other side of the door.
