Care to elaborate on what the Nazis had right....genocide, death camps, slave labor, book burnings, war against neighbors, bombing civilians, elimination of churches, aryan supremacy theory, unrestricted naval warfare, summary executions, destruction of intellectual freedom, stealing & looting natural resources and wealth from other countries, etc. Nazi Germany was an evil regime with no redeemable features. It was rightfully crushed by the Allies (Primarily Russia) and banished to the ashes of history.

Better terminology would be the United States and the West squandered the sacrifices made in WWII. We took what they did and disrespected it.

While I agree with you about the Nazis, I could make an argument our Soviet allies were even more evil. That country saw the deaths of just as many as if not more than Nazi Germany. Communist/Socialist ideology killed more than any other ideology in history.

But, you could still walk through the front door of a restaurant and order a sit down meal and not have to pick it up from the back door...right. Or, perhaps, get a loan at a bank to buy your family a house on a certain part of town without restriction. Or, perhaps, cast a simple ballot at the polls without having to take a literacy test or guess the number of beans in salad jar. We have been very unfair to minorities in our history...can't whitewash it or downplay its severity because we had it tough in the mines.

Agree. The Stalinist regime was equally as evil, especially against anyone considered a threat to its existence. The gulags were at full capacity, the Russian Officer Corps wiped out in purges, and large wraths of people killed through mass starvation. Later in the century, tens of millions died under communist regimes in SW Asia and China. Not sure I would group socialism and communism together...private property doesn't exist in communism, whereas, it does in socialism (focused more on income redistribution vice income seizure)
