Agreed.

Many people think of lung issues - cancer, copd, etc when thinking of smoking.

The REAL killer is the heart and vascular disease. I have to amputate toes and feet almost weekly secondary to peripheral vascular disease in smokers.

It's easy to quit smoking, I've done it a hundred times.

It did finally take though. More or less. I've probably bought 6-7 packs in 11 years.

Lost my Dad to Lung Cancer.
Lost my Mom to COPD and Diabetes.
I don’t blame them for smoking since 1957, they weren’t aware.
I’ve been dipping since I was 16. I’m starting to be pissed at myself.

50 days into quitting a 14 year dip habit cold turkey. Absolutely sucked at first but it definitely gets better after the first couple of weeks, cravings wise.

Out of curiosity, why are people pro-weed yet anti-tobacco? I think both are stupid but people should have the right to use both. Not really my problem what other people do with their bodies.

How?
I’ve never tried to quit, I truly like it, it’s the only thing beside ex players that makes me feel Coach-like since I retired from coaching.

Sound like someone is a progressive.

Let’s ban it and have people selling it on the black market.

I read Allen Carr's "Easy Way to Stop Smoking" 5 years ago and haven't smoked since.

Killed several family members. Just like crack, heroin, and alcohol. People know what they are possibly getting into before that 1st try. There are several things that if you have an addictive personality that you shouldn't frick with. Cigs/dip are one of many.

An MRI of a human brain shows that more areas of the brain light up or show use of receptors when given sugar, over that of heroin.

Sugar is the most addictive substance on the planet, yet I'm sure your kids eat candy no problem.

been off since Dec. 10th.. Honestly alot easier than I thought it would be, except for the instant twitching for a few minutes as I try and go to sleep at night.. I dipped for 16 years. So glad I quit

I’ve never quite understood why people can’t socially do tobacco like people who socially drink. What’s wrong with smoking a couple of cigs or putting a dip in every now and then? A lot of people have 2-4 alcoholic drinks a week. What would be so bad if doing the same with tobacco?

That’s a great question and one I don’t have an answer for. I think with tobacco, for me anyway, my taste buds came alive after quitting temporarily years ago. When I had that first cigarette it tasted like crap. It was awful. I remember that and it doesn’t appeal to me anymore, and I loved smoking for years.

Why people still smoke tobacco with all of the information available about it is beyond me.

Tobacco has a legit argument to be a schedule one drug right up there with meth and heroin.

I have always wondered about everything people tried to smoke before they found out tobacco was the tits.

Let's try rolling up some collards and lighting them.

No, let's try corn silk.

How about ferns?

It doesn't seem like you would look at a tobacco plant and say, "Hell yeah, let's roll it up, light it, and stick the other end in our mouths!"
