Sugar is the biggest poison on the planet that everyone consumes.

No nutrional value; kills people in a terrible way, drains the healthcare system.

I was an occasional cigar smoker. I’ve pretty much quit. I’ve had one since July 4th weekend and that was in October. Then I had a stent placed shortly after Christmas, so I’ve used that as an excuse to give up alcohol as well.

You can live off of the caloric intake of a soft drink or some shitty McDonald’s “food”.

Can’t eat cigarettes or drink tobacco juice to stay alive.

Lobbyists and tax revenue is the reason it’s not banned. There is nothing more obvious than tobacco that puts such a large strain on our health care system.

It’s an addiction that’s hard to beat but can be done. After awhile you don’t think about it anymore.

Sugar:

In 1700 the average Englishman consumed 4 pounds a year. In 1800 the common man ate 18 pounds of sugar.

In 1870 that same sweet-toothed bloke was eating 47 pounds annually. Was he satisfied? Of course not!

By 1900 he was up to 100 pounds a year.

In that span of 30 years, world production of cane and beet sugar exploded from 2.8 million tons a year to 13 million plus.

Today the average American consumes 77 pounds of added sugar annually, or more than 22 teaspoons of added sugar a day.

‘It seems like every time I study an illness and trace a path to the first cause, I find my way back to sugar.’ Richard Johnson, a nephrologist at the University of Colorado Denver, was talking to me in his office
