Roach Spray is POISON.

Anthrax is POISON.

Roundup is POISON.

HFCS is POISON.

Why are we naming poisons in this thread?

That's actually an argument against sugar...

"Hey look at sugar, it can keep you alive, barely...then slowly sap your ability to live, then kill you!"

Tobacco:
"You don't need us, but if you use us for 30 years consistently, we kill you...SOMETIMES SOONER!"

Quit smoking cold turkey about 15 years ago. One day I went to light up a cigarette and it just absolutely disgusted me. I just thought to myself "WTF are you doing?" Threw the rest of the pack away and never looked back. I was a pack a day guy.

Life is so much better without it.

I'm not gonna lie, I smoke a pack a day. I hate it. It's my one weakness.

Been over 5 years tobacco-free. So glad I quit. It was tough but so worth it.

Smoked a pack a day for over 20 years.

Not true. It isn't banned because they want you sick.

I’ve never quite understood why people can’t socially do tobacco like people who socially drink. What’s wrong with smoking a couple of cigs or putting a dip in every now and then? A lot of people have 2-4 alcoholic drinks a week. What would be so bad if doing the same with tobacco?

People focus too much on the extreme ends of things and never factor in moderation.

Lots of people do this. It's called "chipping". It's a myth that everyone who smokes is addicted.

I've written off most of the ones who smoke actual cigarettes, but the one group that really makes me stare in disbelief are the pen smokers who think its somehow less bad for you.

Could people who have quit both weigh in on this question:

Is it harder to quit smoking or to cut soda/sugar out of your diet?

I've never smoked, but I know kicking sugar is hard as hell. Just wondering how the addictions compare.

It is radically less bad for you. How can you not understand this? One is vapor and one is smoke and tar.

It is a trade of something negative for something else negative, and we don’t know as much about the negative effects of vaping yet.

I mean, one hit of a vape pen has significantly more nicotine than a drag on a cigarette.

Vape pens are in no way benign.
