I don't know a whole lot about the issue but they are just pawns in someone elses game. The younger they are the more it would bother me. I have no problem sending them all home.

Seriously though, who is going to pay for this massive influx of unaccounted for people?

Are you suggesting we simply allow anyone and everyone to enter the country undocumented?

And please tell me you're smart enough to understand the difference between America now and the country as it was back then when immigrants were piling in.

I know you're old, but you aren't senile.

Your language is unnecessarily harsh and unkind. Definitely detracts from the message you are trying to convey.

But your logic is sound.

It's hilarious how republicans are thinking this will turn out fine and they can get a new fancy voting bloc.

If they were smart, they could get the Hispanic vote. The Hispanics values don't align with the democrats whatsoever. If they were smart, they'd let the border issue go and really try to appeal to the Hispanics. The Republicans are dying, but if they get off the anti-Hispanic/pro-rich bandwagon, they could get the Hispanics. The only reason they're with the democrats is they're not too much about securing the border and are the pro-poor party. That's the extent of their loyalty. Every single one of their actual ideals align with the Republicans. It's theirs to lose.

Hardly. Go visit Ellis Island. See how they used to screen the hell out of people and how many were turned away for health reasons. It was way more strict and structured than you are insinuating.

LOL! The poem isn't even quoted correctly!

That's what happens when you just re-post the thoughts of others that are presented as talking points.

Beautiful quote. And I still believe in this sentiment. It is what made our nation great. But the context (which is everything) is referring to legal immigrants. Not those attempting to illegally cross our borders. I am for immigration reform, I am for work visas. I am not for illegal immigration.

Yeah but I thought the rich were evil and should be taxed more. Why are we going to tax our new countrymen's soon to be evil employers?

So many mixed signals!

Their healthcare?
Their education?
Food?
Housing?

I don't care if they want to come here. Hell, if they can come here, be productive and contribute economically and socially, I'm all in.

But just setting them free into society, undocumented is going to severely burden the taxpayers.

You're right. Every last one of the hundreds of thousands of millions of illegal immigrants entering the country will get documented, all work jobs and contribute financially via taxes....

Come on dude, have a real conversation.

Pro-poor party? Yeah in rhetoric only. But as we all know- bullshite walks.

I know what you mean about their social ideals aligning more with Repubs. But I can't help think of the huge socialist bent of so many Latin American countries that would make a Republican alliance more fantasy than real possibility.
