I follow him on social media and like what he has to say. Seems to be very constitutional minded. Is this guy the real deal …as far as any politician can be ? What’s his ceiling in politics? Is he strong enough in KY to replace Cocaine Mitch when he retires ? Seems like him and Rand would be a strong duo.

That’s the feel I get from him. Rather cerebral yet possessing common sense, and freedom minded and somewhat ballsy

He's my Congressman. I have got to meet him a few times, and also personally responded to a few of my emails (at least someone at his office did, were definitely not canned responses).

He lives off the grid and is 100% self sustainable. Not into all cocktail party BS that other politicians are. From my experience, he just seems like a guy who doesn't like the way the country was heading, and figured he could try to do something about it.

My local GOP party does not care for him too much, so that is a plus.

That was what I was reading today that peaked my interest - his thoughts on being sustainable.

Senate ?

Maybe the only person you can’t pin inflation on.

I believe he was the only congressman to not vote for the 2020 stimulus fiasco.

Exactly where he is. Guys with principles like Massie do not make many friends in DC.

I don't live in Kentucky, but I would doubt that he's popular with the state party or the major state GOP donors, just because of his political stances.

He's a great Rep. for his district though.

Same ceiling as Ron Paul unfortunately. The American electorate isn't going to vote for someone that talks about freedom, civil liberties, balance budgets, non-intervention foreign policy, etc, etc, etc.

He was featured in the HBO documentary The Swamp, which I just watched yesterday. Seemed like a very honest and thoughtful man.

He and MTG are universally hated in DC by both sides because they had the audacity to force members of congress to actually go to the capital and vote on things.

One of Trump's worst tweets. As if Massie of all people cares about "publicity"

eta: But Trump did end up endorsing him recently.

Yea, Trump has never been able to understand that you don't always have to attack a dissenter when the legislation will pass anyway. He takes things like that far too personally.

Trump is also a big spender, from a policy standpoint. So I'm assuming he's very annoyed by people like Massie

its why i laugh when people say trump is a true conservative. In waht fricking way

as far as massie, he is the best person in DC and the most princpled, more so than even Rand. Unfortunately he also has a much lower ceiling than rand because of this and being anti publicity.

I skipped around a bit, but seemed to catch some really good parts. Got a bit worried when I saw the solar panels/teslas, but in the 29th min he explains how he likes how its green, but he did it more for independence knowing the govt can cut that "wire" when they please. Which I can agree with him on. Though, I won't go EV unless the car is completely unhackable/trackable. Ie...someone needs to find a way to convert older cars to run on a rechargeable battery.

Also, interesting insight in the description of how the congressional pin gets to peoples heads, and why he doesn't wear it all the time to keep him grounded.

Don't know all of his stances but so far he sounds solid, and hope WV keeps him in a solid position moving forward.

If we had a House full of Thomas Massie's, this nation would be on the right track.

He can enjoy his solar panels/tesla house battery to his heart's content as long as he isn't forcing me to pay for it, forcing me to adopt it, or hurting other forms of energy. And he isn't.
