The ten year breakeven inflation rate was barely over 1% as of Wednesday.

Seriously, frick Trump for calling out Massie. If we had more reps and senators like him and Rand, we wouldn’t have most of the problems we have now.

This bill is a clusterfrick and should be voted down. This is no more than a bribe to keep the populace from rioting.

These checks wont arrive for another 3-5 weeks.

If that is the case, then this bill is even worse. It does nothing.

3-5 more weeks of this and there is no economy to open back up. It's done and will take a decade or more to recover.

Meh. In fairness, the current landscape has changed what being a conservative means. Your little small government speech from earlier in this thread was cute. But that ship has sailed. You may as well be telling us about walking around the town square, visiting the penny arcade and watching the Andy Griffith Show.

And herein lies the problem. We have Senators like Burr and Loeffler using their positions to further enrich themselves. We have folks like Romney and Graham knee-deep in Ukraine corruption. People like Massie and Rand Paul will always be pariahs in a party that has no interest in actually limiting government.

Truth. They get really angry if called out.

The illusion of being conservative is greater than the desire.

What's your take on this stimulus plan's impact on inflation over time? Not enough to worry about?

How about its impact on the value of the US dollar? What's your take?

I'm concerned about those two issues, so, I'm trying to get some insight on this. Thanks.

They all want to be conservative, but truely they only want their ideas forced on people.

I am starting to really believe that humans as a whole do not have an innate desire to be free and actually many have the desire to be controlled.

It is hilarious to watch.

I do NOT call myself a “conservative” because I LOATHE the SoCon, statist connotation that goes with that terminology.

But the simple fact is that from a fiscal and limited-government perspective, I am far more “conservative” than 75% of this forum. But I hate Trump and big government, so I am labeled as a “Proggie.”

Hilarious.

I voted for him. He’s the type of guy we need in Washington, have met him several times and is very down to earth. Family oriented and pro america. His opponent, Seth Hall, was the exact opposite.

This.

Accountability for politicians is something that should be supported by both sides of the aisle.

Resisting that is swampy behavior and Trump is enabling swampy behavior because McCarthy and McConnell told him to.

OK, but let's get back to the real world where there are currently shutdowns in place and the state will soon, sadly, start to aggressively enforce it. A payroll tax cut is not going to do the trick in this environment. BTW I agree with most of what you said....2 to 3 K is too much but not enough.

He is free to vote no without being an attention whore. There is no purpose in delaying the vote--its going to pass just let it happen already. His one vote does NOTHING to stop it. Delaying it does nothing but piss people off for no benefit whatsoever

What do you think these even means? Nothing at all will change from the way they are right now vis-a-vis freedom of movement. There is no enforcement mechanism for anything more stringent.

Of we allow as citizens a complete shutdown and actually follow it, we deserve everything that is coming to us.
