I am supporting this stimulus though but only to stop civil unrest. I don't want to get robbed because people are too stupid and helpless to take care of themselves and their family.

I don't like the stimulus, just beef up UI for those specifically affected.

When this bill comes due, people are going to be b pissed. There is no gift from government.

Let’s have politicians from D.C. to the county level face the consequences for their decision. This bill let’s them off the hook temporarily.

The bill in effect isn’t a stimulus. It’s more accurately a relief bill.

It doesn’t even end at Trump

“Conservatives” are cheerleading their local and state governments shutting down the economy and people’s movement

Fake conservatives hated Ron Paul when Bush was pres. They loved him when Obama was pres.

They puss on Rand and Massey now, but wait til the next Democrat the s in office, they'll be in love with them.

Most st people here aren't conservative. They are just anti Democrat.

So let me understand the logic of some of you on this board. Everyone was screaming when Pelosi and Schumer did not pass without alteration the first draft of the Coronavirus Stimulus Bill that Mitch submitted and made sure that certain items were included (for instance, companies can’t use the money to buyback their own stock, etc.). They were demonizing them for delaying passage, delaying payments of Gov-mint checks, causing the stock market to go down, etc.

Now, you have 1 Republican congressman grandstanding (and that is all this is since there is 0 chance of him succeeding) and delaying the final passage of the stimulus that Trump is supporting! So we have more delays, the stock market is going down, etc.

So is the grandstanding and delays of a TRUMP SUPPORTED bill OK now but not earlier this week?

It was a serious, curious question... I never heard of the guy until yesterday. I don't care what he votes. It's gonna pass anyway. I was just getting other peoples opinion. Is he an attention whore or a selfless man? I guess that is up for debate when you are the only one voting no out of 400 people multiple times.

He is selfless, ever see him jumping in front of the camera, yet he votes like this Everytime.

I have guns, but civil unrest will happen if the Facebook counts get their way with mutiple weeks of everything shutdown. Let people go another two Fridays with no paycheck and watch what happens. Riots.

This bill should only be designed to help out people and business affected by the government’s actions. Rest of it needs to be cut.

Depends on the question. In this case he's just content on being an a-hole while people who don't make near what he does and had their job/livelihood wrecked over this virus are suffering along with the economy which will eventually affect just about all of us. frick him!

Yep got to love it. Most people have no code, no guiding moral code. Either you stand for something or you don't. You don't flip flop when it suits you.

frick that.

To be fair most that are taking up for Massey hated the original bill to, we are the true conservatives and hate pretty much all government intervention and spending outside of mandated constitutional duties.

Agreed. Unfortunately, time is not on our side to do any wrangling over the pork. Those who tossed in the excess need to be held to account when the dust settles though.

This bill isn't going to do that much for the economy and long term will hurt it.

Want to stimulate the economy, do like trump wanted in the first place and suspend payroll tax on both sides for 18 months. Cut spending to match. Boom, beat economy we have ever had will be in full force within 6 months.

I agree on payroll tax but we’re about a week or two from a shite ton of businesses being forced to close. Millions already unemployed.

Wouldn’t do shite for most

They need to end this and let healthy people go to work.

So, was any sane thinking individual when this was initially proposed. Sadly, it had to go through Washington.
