I’m on both Trump’s side AND Massie’s side. These are not mutually exclusive concepts.
After the disaster of the dementia ward escapee, I voted for Trump myself after vowing to never vote in the UniParty® charade again.
So I cast stones at none but myself if I criticize anyone who argues that pragmatic political concerns sometimes should take precedence over philosophical principles.
I thus understand why many of Trump’s supporters believe that Massie too often carries his principles to the extreme and could be accused of cutting off his nose to spite his face.
Yet to claim a principled conservative such as Massie is “pro-tranny” who regularly votes with Democrats simply displays the abject ignorance of any poster making that argument.
It indeed displays a lack of imagination on the history of conservative thought in this country.

Dudes job approval was at 39% in August. He’s got to be around d 30% now. I guess he knows he’s done, and is just positioning to be the next “republican” on msdnc.

Well, tell us about it. Be specific. Where does this dark money come from and how much are we talking about?

BS. It is/has been acknowledged there are two types of libertarians. Milton Friedman wrote about this extensively. Look it up.
One type of libertarian believes in open borders. The other believes open borders are an assault on private property.
There is some nuance there, don't you think?

Thomas Massie is what MAGA should have been which is why this board constantly attacks him. I find it funny.

Good for him. Why would anyone that wants less government (something I thought conservatives supported) want the feds involved in a private school?

Its because we all saw how Justin Amash turned out. Same song, different verse
quote:
* Amash, originally a Republican, Amash became an independent in 2019
* Amash received national attention when he became the first Republican congressman to call for the impeachment of Donald Trump
* During his initial tenure in the State House, Amash sponsored five resolutions and twelve bills, none of which were passed.
* During the primary campaign he was endorsed by the Club for Growth and Representative Ron Paul
* The House Republican Steering Committee removed Amash from the House Budget Committee for "inability to work with other members."
* In 2022, Amash tweeted that he would be willing to serve as Speaker of the United States House, receiving support from Colorado Governor Jared Polis. During the voting for the Speaker, Amash arrived at the Capitol to offer himself as a candidate, but did not receive any votes
* Amash is pro-life, yet voted "present", rather than "yes", on a 2011 bill which provided for the enfdof federal funding to Planned Parenthood.
* Amash voted against the Prenatal Non-Discrimination Act, which would have made it a crime to perform an abortion based on the gender of the fetus.
* Amash cosponsored a bill that would abolish the death penalty at the federal level.
* Amash was one of nine representatives who voted against a House resolution that affirmed In God We Trust as the official motto of the United States and was the only Republican to do so.
* Amash was one of two Republicans to vote in favor of closing Guantanamo Bay and transferring its detainees.
* Amash supported the Defense of Marriage Act, but in 2013 he advocated repealing it, saying that the "real threat to traditional marriage & religious liberty is government, not gay couples who love each other & want to spend lives together".
* Amash voted to uphold Obama's 2014 EO banning federal contractors from making hiring decisions that discriminate based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
* Amash voted "present" on a resolution objecting to Trump's restrictions on transgender individuals in the military.
* "I don't think you can just grab people and deport them...I think we need to have a system that is sympathetic to people, looks at their situations and allows as many people to stay here as possible."
* Amash said that Trump "has engaged in impeachable conduct" based on the obstruction of justice findings of the Mueller Report
* When Mitt Romney was the only Republican senator who voted to convict Trump in his Senate trial, Amash tweeted, "Thank you, @SenatorRomney, for upholding your oath to support and defend the Constitution. You will never regret putting your faith in God and doing right according to the law and your conscience."
These people are not conservatives. They just play one to get elected

You got that right: Massie’s voting record speaks for itself and that is not open to debate:
Top Defenders of Liberty | U.S. House
In a just world, Massie would serve as a model for the MAGA movement on how to return this country to fiscal sanity and likewise limit the power of the Deep State:

If you think Massie’s unyielding adherence to Constitutional principles is a strategic blunder, well and fine.
Yet again, anyone who claims Massie is not a conservative — and here I mean a consistent supporter of the principles of limited government — is an ignoramus.
By any objective measure, Massie is one of the few Repubes in the Potomac Beltway that has consistently followed Constitutional tenets on the proper role of the Feral Government.
What a sad yet revealing commentary on the state of contemporary “conservatism” that the more a Republican’s voting record aligns with consistent Constitutional principles, the more likely it is that the politician will be accused of being a charlatan by the GOPE.
