A "friend" on Facebook, actually our kids went to elementary-High school together, posted one of the crazier posts I have seen in a while.
She said she would gladly pay more for gas the save all these children. There a picture of children wrapped in blankets sleeping on the floor, looked like one of my kids sleepovers when they wanted to sleep in the basement actually.
Anyway I called her out. I was like, we live in this East Cobb bubble where we aren't worried about where our next meal is coming from, we only use our cars to commute to work, and btw you don't work and your Emmy winning husband works from home! What about the taxi drivers, the delivery men, the truckers, the companies that have to lay off workers because the price of gas has hit them so hard that they have to lay off workers!!
She never really got it and blasted me about how much money I donated to Ukraine. I told her it was none of her damn business. This is the thinking of these people as sad as it is!

Was this supposed to be a direct message to someone who has any idea of what you're talking about?

they dont think.
they support what they are told to support and they rail against what they are told to rail against.
We went from code pink to ww3, 80's foreign policy jokes to Russian hysteria, and civil liberties to straight up police state authoritarianism.

This reinforces why I got off Facebook years ago. I like people more when their stupidity isn’t shoved in my face regularly.

These things always remind me of a year after the ACA went into effect, some station was interviewing an Obama supporter. This person had also been a strident supporter of the ACA... right up to the point where they found out they were considered "wealthy" and now had to pay more for health insurance. For people like that, there are two realities: the one that impacts them and the one that impacts others. In their minds, those two realities can never intersect thus their worldview is crafted as if everyone is experiencing things in exactly they way they are (or how they believe it should be experienced).

Ah yes! The east cobb liberal white woman. They are the cancer that is eating away at a once proud conservative area. Now they think they are saving humanity by turning the area blue....LOL, little do they know, they are destroying this country.

Yep, I saw my first stop complaining about gas prices post from a college drop out that still lives with her parents lol

I love soccer moms who don't live in the real world. Latte's for breakfast and watching Oprah is a tough gig

Yea, you're right, but that's how I keep up with my college friends, my kids college groups, and several groups that I am a member of who only use Facebook.
I guess I could delete people like her, but I care about her kids who I have known for 18 years and like to see how they are doing in college or whatever path they took.

I think if you yell louder at her she may get the message.

Ask her how much money is SHE laundering to Biden through Ukraine?

I remember right after I graduated from LSU and was living in the NE, and the big thing was protesting at McDonalds about Styrofoam cups and how they were destroying the planet.
There is a class of people that need a cause to fight for in order to be happy and feel like their life has meaning. They will take whatever the cause du jour is and latch onto it like their life depends on it. Sacrificing their own lifestyle is not part of the equation, though.

There's no talking logic to liberals. Their brains aren't wired that way.

This cannot be stated enough times.

That's not "blasting", that's just getting personal when you have no other comeback. SOP for the comfy Facebookers who expect nothing but compliments and ego boosting in the comments

Listening to the East Cobb moms at my kids sporting events is like nails on a chalk board. It takes everything I have to sit there and just support my kids instead of calling these entitled idiots out. But, it’s one of the nicer areas in Georgia so I just sacrifice a bit of sanity to live here.

Liberals do what other liberals tell them to do.

There are a few of us that know what is going on, but I agree most of them are clueless.
I have 3 more years and then I retire from the education system with 30 years and full benefits. Both our kids will have finished their undergrad work and 1 will still be working on her graduate degree and we will living in the Blueridge Mountains!
