I’m surprised it doesn’t happen more often, but then I have to realize that most of these cities aren’t like the cities in the south where most of us own at least 5 guns.

The kid should be commended more in how he handled that rifle. He did virtually everything by the book.

This is the image that should be making the rounds. You can see how close he was to death. Arm meat explosion is a bonus!

That chunk of arm became part of the atmosphere.

Openly carrying he was there to provoke.
Openly carrying he was there to prevent. Unless you are dealing with a sociopath who routinely preys on the weak. And he did not attempt to attack Kyle until he was walking with the reporter and one other person on his way back to either his transportation or his lodging.

And Kyle avoided the confrontation and fled. Until he could not avoid it any longer.

And the sociopath is dead. Because of his own actions.

And the world is a better place because he is no longer in it.

Envision a black community being looted and destroyed by other black people in the name of white justice. A group of black guys show up to protect the unwilling black victims. He shoots other black men as they attack him. Then black people label him as a domestic terrorist.

Im confused as I type it out

People can run, but they can't hide. No body can. ALL will be forced to choose one side or the other. As it goes to the street, it'll become obvious as to which side one will choose. And for most sane Americans, with children, homes and a life...it won't be Marxist Insurrectionists...filled with hatred. Because even if they were to be given the power of Government...the hatred would remain. And we know where that train goes.

The John Mark Speaks Guy nailed it. Strap in.

The only thing that matters is what the circumstances were at the time of his firing the gun. But they're not clever enough to understand that.

The only reason you’re defending his actions is because you disagree with the politics of his victims.
False. There is also the shared firearm fetish.

He was an out of State agitator, disobeying a police-ordered curfew, Illegally carrying a firearm, in “defense” of property he did not own.
All true.

He is a murderer
False. Even out of state agitators in violation of curfews retain the right to defend themselves from criminal assault.
quote:

not a patriot.
He seems like a fairly patriotic, good kid to me. Cleaning grafitti and treating the injured certainly earn him points in that regard.

But those traits are absolutely irrelevant to the charges he faces, one way or the other. The only question is whether he had the right to defend himself in the face of several criminal assaults. It seems clear that he DID have that right.

It is almost a shame that he will be convicted on the misdemeanor. His failure to take the Wisconsin gun-safety course seems a matter of form over substance. But he DID choose to go armed in Wisconsin without checking the law.

From the perspective of someone who supports firearm rights, Second Amendment advocates are very fortunate that when this event it did occur, it involved an upstanding young man like Kyle Rittenhouse.

Imagine how this could’ve gone, if the shooter had instead been some thuggish Proud Boys type.
