I am a fiscal and constitutional conservative (somewhat socially conservative too, but I don't want that enforced by law). I don't agree with:

1) The war on drugs.

2) Mandatory minimum jail sentences for non-violent offenses.

3) The out of control military budget.

4) Military interventionism unrelated to our immediate security.

5) Asset forfeiture for law enforcement.

6) Farm or other corporate subsidies.

7) Extensive restrictions on abortion.

8) The need to return to a more religious society.

These are the major issues where I deviate from "the right" that immediately come to mind.

ETA: OP, I like how you started this thread with a very clear premise and ended up with mostly discussions of the hypocrisy of politicians.

"What do you disagree with the right about?"

"I DISAGREE WITH THEM NOT BEING CONSERVATIVE ENOUGH!"

Bama is doing this right, state sponsored marriage is stupid...

End it, make everyone file for everything separately...it's just a personal contract

Not true. Ending the war on drugs will solve a ton of problems including violence and incarceration.

Gays and Republicans both handled this issue incorrectly.

Gays should have sought civil unions instead of poking the right in the eye with the marriage language.

Republicans should have said, fine, get married. It really doesn't matter.

Staunch conservative on most things but I'm like 80/20 PL/PC on abortion depending on the day. I hope we soon get to a point where a Constitutional amendment settles it one way or the other. Even if I hate the outcome, I would respect it.

I agree that farm subsidies as they exist today are the very picture of pork barrel politics but I do see a compelling interest in propping up agriculture and somewhat subsidizing cheap food.

The militarization of police and the artificially antagonistic relationship between police and the poors are directly attributable to the WOD.

gay marriage.

That's an oxymoron.

Marriage was originally an institution of religion. Religion defined marriage. Religion does not recognize, nor condone, homosexual marriage.

That's my problem, conservative or not, with gay marriage. I believe gays should be allowed a civil union, because they should be able to commit a recognized pact to their partner and be as happy and/or miserable as every other married couple.

But gay marriage in and of itself is an attack on core religions because as a Christian I am of the belief that GOD does not recognize nor sanction a marriage of two men or women. As long as the LGBT wants to recognize "gay marriage" and it's ceremonies as "sanctioned by GOD", then I will always take issue with it.

This head scratching, moronic, one sided belief that everything has to be bi-partisan and negotiable. The belief that there is a true common ground anymore. This idiotic ongoing belief that if Republicans are fair with Democrats the same will be afforded Republicans whenever leadership changes. The wanting of photo ops of Democrats and Republicans exiting the Capitol after major legislation and holding hands high.

The leadership of “my side” stands for this. It’s idiotic and infuriating when dims block common sense stuff and Lindsey Graham, John McCain, Paul Ryan, and Mitch Mcconnell runs to the cameras and preach bipartisanship and then water down bills or add large amounts of spending. When the roles are reversed the dims go Nuclear and move forward as one.

I should have said that I hate the right’s opposition to a wall between church and state. That would been more clear for you, I suppose.

I don’t see how you can say the gays mishandled this issue. They fought for the higher goal, and they got it.
