I really don't fit anywhere politically. I do think there is a role for gov't in the economy and our lives, but it should be SMALL. I tend to lean libertarian. If you label libertarian, I really believe we need environmental regulation and universal health insurance. And we need regulation of financial services, assuming we don't send bankers who steal to jail.
If I am labeled liberal, I would prefer a tax model other than income. I also am against a $15 / min wage. I am against paid maternity leave (although open to the idea of paid leave construed another way). Against free college. And am against foreign intervention in conflicts most of the time.

I don't think Trump will have much to do with this. It is more up to the states. It has been approved for medicinal purposes in Louisiana in June. I feel sort of bad right now, can't wait for some relief.

I personally have no difficulties with anyone wanting to keep the church and state separate.
Where is the government making you uncomfortable with regard to blurring the line with religion and gov?

I am neither extreme left or right, but the whole american model is about economic slavery. Work --> Buy --> Repeat

Because they could have had their goal much sooner.

So one liberal has looked at this thread and listed some crazy left wing stances that are pretty normal for Democrats to defend lately and said " I disagree with that?"
Disgusting

I'm more libertarian than GOP.
I'm fiscally conservative, but there are a few social issues where I think the gov't has no business. If you want to put drugs in your body or be or buy a prostitute, knock yourself out.
And I'm an isolationist for foreign policy, but I tend to ignore whatever intervention we're pulling off this year.

All the “religious rights” issues. We’re all in this nation together and there are some religious people who don’t want to deal with others. We can’t have nations within a nation.

Folks on the left lashing out at people with differing opinions is maddening to me and why I can't really identify as a traditional liberal. Half of those people don't really even give much of a shite about the subject. They just need to feel like they somehow contributed in a positive way to society by being a contrarian to some Trump supporter on Twitter.
Also, abortion is a subject that I'm morally conflicted on and I don't agree on the gung-ho approach the left has toward it.

Provide the link that indicates otherwise.
Does our Fed overreach or get into shite they shouldn't? Hell yes but you can't selectively pick which laws you want to obey.....our Forefathers didn't have that in mind.

That's also a shitty quote which is why I removed it. No reputable source can tie it to Jefferson it appears.

You don't have to go to work for someone else. You could choose to live like the Omish and farm, widdle, and sow your own clothes. You choose to be part of the machinery. We become bitter when we fail to recognize that these golden corporate handcuffs are placed on us by our own hands.
Well I am not caught in that trap. I am self employed.
However, most americans are caught in that trap. And they don't even realize it.
For instance, I had coffee with a friend this morning. We talked about retirement, and he was saying he can't retire until 65 and how that sucks. I plan to retire around 45.
After that he proceeded to talk about buying a record player and then getting a bunch of new vinyl to play on it. He probably dropped $500 on it in the last few weeks. He doesn't have time to buy vinyl used, nor the inclination. He doesn't even understand what is goign wrong. And frick, he is saving for retirement, unlike most Americans.
This isn't some grand conspiracy theory, it is what our system is set out to do.
