What does Xi get out of the deal? Taiwan?
Or is it more likely that he's just playing the long game knowing Trump holds all the cards right now?
I tend to take the long game position. If Xi sees a President Gavin Newscum and VP AOC in January of 2029, he knows they'll basically gift wrap the USA for him.

Both things can be true at the same time.
John Barron... I mean Eric Daugherty... can and does post links to legitimately good news stores, but every one of his posts preface those stories with his hyperbolic sirens and attention-words in all caps.

I haven't kept up with the Trump - Xinping meeting. I picked up bits and pieces from my wife. Amazing actually - my interest in all this geo-political posturing is waning (a good indicator that my time is getting near) while my wife is absorbed in it (hint: I'd rather be praying). But, I digress.
But I did pick up, from her, the comment Xinping made in the opening remarks of his welcoming address - something about China is a 5000 year old civilization - you (USA) are only 250 years old. Ouch, in yo face America.

There is no "news" until details of official deals are made clear
Trump has said at least a dozen times that talks were going well with Iran only to be proven wrong every single time.
