They’re both. They can hold both passports, but they technically are part of Britain vs Ireland. That being said, the Catholics consider themselves Irish first.

This sends me into a sort of rage where I’m absolutely certain that I could kill that officer with my bare hands.
The complete lack of humanity and empathy displayed is what has given this story such legs. Nowak was an 18 y.o. university student not a criminal with a docket for a rap sheet. It hit homes across all walks of life when people finally see it.
quote:
Henry Nowak repeatedly told officers he had been stabbed, but he was handcuffed by police after his killer Vickrum Digwa falsely claimed he had been racially abused.
The 18-year-old was just a few months into his first year at university when he was killed on his way home to his accommodation in Southampton on 3 December.
Digwa has been jailed for life with a minimum of 21 years for the murder.
This is what we know of how the night unfolded, including what we learned from CCTV and bodycam footage, a transcript of the 999 call and the judge's sentencing remarks.
Here’s the actual breakdown and timeline of what actually happened. The Sikh stole his phone as the kid was on the way back to his university housing and stabbed him in cold-blooded murder. The judge in this case absolutely rebuts all claims made by Starmer and found zero evidence that this was racially motivated on Nowak’s part. If you were incensed before, do not read this article.

I don’t know the exact quote, but something to the effect of “please help! I’ve been stabbed 23 times and I’m bleeding to death!”

Thank you for that link.
It's an enraging read but one that needs to be read.

It's past time to bring out the long knives in the UK...and storm parliament.

good summary, but let me add some other disgusting details:
The police barely questioned Vickrum Digwa after he claimed he had been “racially attacked.” They apparently gave that claim far more weight than the obvious red flags: he had no visible injuries, there was a dying victim on scene, and he may have had access to a weapon under the guise of a "religious exemption" for carrying a kirpan; though, according to the Sikh Federation, the weapon involved was not actually a kirpan. shocking.
Before police arrived, Vickrum and his brother called their mother for help. She then allegedly came to the scene, took the dagger, and helped hide it. She is being prosecuted as well. That is not “community support.” That is tribalism at the expense of white boy.
Vickrum was never handcuffed at the scene, on the way to the police station, or even at the station. Meanwhile, Henry Nowak ... the actual victim, was reportedly treated like a suspect while he was bleeding out. There are also reports that Vickrum was treated with bizarre leniency at the police station, including claims that he was taken to the kitchen and allowed to choose what he wanted to eat. (The father mentions this during his related press release)
Then, while sitting in the back of the police car on the way to the station, Vickrum and his brother discussed how to coroberate their story in their native language. At one point, they reportedly acknowledged that if there were cameras on a certain street, their entire story would fall apart. Fortunately, that conversation was recorded and later translated. Without that recording, there is a real chance he could have walked free.
And let’s not forget the police response to Henry himself. Officers refused to recognize the seriousness of his injuries while he was bleeding out. Yet those officers have not been prosecuted and apparently will not be.
Now compare that treatment to the way police officers were doxxed, threatened, and prosecuted after George Floyd’s death (not murder per the expert witness coroner). The contrast is impossible to ignore: in one case, the system moved heaven and earth to punish police because a dangerous felon with a heart blockage high on enough fentonyl to kill a horse died in custody; in this case, gross negligence toward a dying teenager appears to be getting quietly swept aside.
Ohh, added bonus: here’s the tweet (now deleted) by the Hampshire Police’s official X account on May 28th:
”officers were misled at the scene”
bullshite. you brainwashed your officers into immediately coming to the rescue of a minority who said the magic words and to automatically assume the young white male, bleeding out, was at fault.
“They quickly switched to life-saving aid within minutes”
frick off. We’ve all seen the body camera footage now. This is a blatant lie.
“our thoughts are with his family”.
Our thoughts? We can’t say prayers anymore because we wouldn’t want to offend anyone. Which is exactly why you’re here now.
So yeah, a lot of the native indigenous Brit’s are mad. And they have every fricking right to be. We should all be mad. I hope the police involved get everything that’s coming to them.

And if you think:
“ohh this was a one off and an isolated incident."
"Mistakes were made."
"And maybe this will wake up the police in UK.”
Wrong. No fricking chance. This is their creed now.
Here’s an incident that took place over the weekend in East London.
Once again, automatically assuming the white boy, with his hands in his pocket, being shoved around by an angry mob of minorities, is the perpetrator.

We’re about to pull old scabs here come Monday as well, when the Metcalf trial is supposed to get underway.
You know with all the juror intimidation on full display and the organized chaos that is bought and paid for.
You won’t see the white, brown, red, yellow, etc. etc. communities around this country jumping for joy and acting a fool with a guilty verdict because they’re civilized enough to realize that there’s no winners here other than the concept of blind and impartial justice…at the cost of two kid’s futures.
The divide is that far apart and cannot be bridged. It’s infuriating on so many levels
