Not surprising. Most of our defining traits are a combination of nature and nurture. Why would sexual preference be any different?

This, if they were just happy being gay, then I am for the live and let live... The problem is these fricks want me to respect their lifestyle to the point of forcing some to openly support/advocate for it...

No one is forcing you to openly advocate or support anything. The government says you aren’t allowed to deny gay people the right to marry or deny them service on the basis of being gay or fire someone due to their sexual orientation the same way you aren’t able to do that on the basis of religion or race. The government isn’t forcing you to attend gay pride parades or attend gay weddings or celebrate anything. Sure, society at large may shame you if you express anti-gay views openly but that has nothing to do with government.

No one has ever explained why or how someone would "choose" to be gay. Sexual attraction is not something someone mulls over in puberty and "decides"

I would just like to enter this thread and point out that heritability is irrelevant.
Pretty much every human characteristic has some elements of heritability. There are myriad reasons for the following, but, they are all the product of some collection of traits inherent to that person.
Shy
Outgoing
Anti-Social
Social Butterfly
Obnoxious
Pleasant
Impulse control
Poor impulse control
Homicidal
Charitable
Thoughful
Thoughtless
Gay
Straight
Pedo
Sexually aggressive
Sexually timid
and on and on and on and on
There is no reason for humans to use heritability as a reason to ignore any particular behavior. If I don't like obnoxious people, the fact that they are related to a long line of obnoxious people who passed on that personality trait is irrelevant.
And for frick's sake. NO. Being gay isn't in the same universe of bad as being a pedo..........but if one is heritable, the other most certainly is also. And, I think pretty much all gays would agree they don't like pedos
