We are dealing with differences beyond politics.

There are postmodernists that align with the left politically that do not see the world as what was considered "common sense". They reject Western Civilization's logic and history, and cannot be reasoned with.

Ahhh.....war against another country almost always unites the country, as long as there is a seemingly valid reason to be at war at the time. With Bush, the Iraqi war seemed legit at the time...and followed 9/11 (an attack on us absolutely unites us.) Were there to be an attack on American soil today, I have no doubt the U.S. would unite and we would work together to destroy the enemy. A "virus" is different. Telling people to "stay at home", or stand 6 feet apart isn't exactly unifying. It gives people time to sit around and stew over things, and makes things worse. I don't think we have seen the end of political cohesion. Plus, 20 years from now there will be a new set of players and new issues to bitch about.

I'm very happy that more and more people are beginning to realize that what you say here is the truth.

I'm also very happy that more and more now realize that China has been at war with the USA for a long time AND that China and the US Democratic Party have the same objectives in mind for the USA.

Perhaps one day some states will reach the logical conclusion that we need a divorce. If you don't care to live under the rule of people who admire Red China, then you need a divorce.

We'll tickle that on the calendar. Hopefully, by that time, most of the Trumpkins will be dead and the conflict will be less idiocratic.

So, “the conflict” will be over what, at that point?

We've had paranoid morons in this country forever. When you die, someone will take your place.

You don't divorce your crazy uncle. You tolerate him and roll your eyes.

You can’t have a functioning country with this group of regressives.

It's diabolical really. Remember these are the same people who fund an enterprise in the business of killing babies. To these people inflicting misery is a political tool to punish your enemy. Donald Trump supporters is their enemy.

The only way to stop it is beating them soundly at the ballot box! I'm talking make a true minority out them.

Agree completely. Democrats have thrown all "politcal decorum" out the window and there will be no turning back. The US is now enjoying 3rd world nation politcal behavior thanks to the Dems. I don't see any turning back now that it's "not a crime" to be a communist or socialist. Those types are out in the open now, infiltrating our gov't, media, military and universities and it's not a crime. The divide will continue to grow as a powder keg until something "lights" it and a conflict will result.

75 years of agitprop from our enemies, piped into our culture with much cooperation from our own media has had the desired effect.

True - I can add my own anecdotal input to this

I have always hated LBJ - from my earliest childhood memories all the way back into the 40's my grandfather from Texas hated LBJ - called him a murderer and most of the adult talk that I overheard was about politics with LBJ being the villain. My grandfather was a devout Democrat.

As I grew into adulthood and began following politics I started off as a democrat (entire family was democrat and in LA at the time the GOP was not even on the ballot. But I fairly quickly turned conservative and have become more so every year since.

Anyway - I hated LBJ - hated every political policy he proffered. BUT - when it came to the war in Vietnam, I supported him. At the time I had no concept of a POTUS deliberately lying to us about something so serious as war.

SO - regardless of my intense hatred of the man himself - my total detestation of his political maneuvering and its policies - I was still a supporter of him as the Leader of our Nation.

That was the ethos of the country when I grew up - support the NATION regardless of personal political benefit/liability.

What an odd tie in to melanin. I guess it provides a window into your thought process, if nothing else.

I hope that's true myself because I don't want anything to do with the progressive left. I don't want to negotiate with them or coexist with them. Their a bunch of worthless, soulless fricks and I'll have no association with them.

I did the same with baby Bush when he invaded Iraq. My folks were in the towers, thankfully not when they fell, but I was furious. I was also only 18. I was naive then too and even went to bat for Bush's policies, losing many friends in the process. I was young and naive. Looking back, I can't believe I acted that way.

True - again from my own experiecenc - I was born in the depth of the Great Depression. All thru the first 30 or 40 years of my life, FDR was considered the "great savior" of the nation.

In fact it was not until a few decades ago that I had the time to read political history and was amazed to discover that there really were vast political differences between the GOP and FDR during the depression era.

In rural LA, I didn't even know the GOP existed. In fact the first time i ever heard of Republicans was when an uncle of mine remarked that he was going register as a DEMOCRAT because he never got to vote as a REBUBLICAN !! (it didn't dawn on me at the time that he was joking. It stands out as the first time I had ever heard of REPUBLICAN!!!

that, along with the media, and long with the fact that Trump is not a swamper and is trying to be ousted by both sides to a degree, are all contributing factors to support the OP's comment. i mean, the man had never been accused of anything sexually or racist until he put that R next to his name.....and now, even when he does something good for the country, they look at any way possible to spin it bad, or credit someone else, or simply discredit him. the man is fighting for a country he loves, and he's fighting loons on the hill and the media every second he speaks. just imagine how effective he'd be if he had the slightest support from the GOP and the media.
