I agree with that when it is done in our favor. But Trump was asking for unconditional surrender before the ceasefire. And now we are trying to figure out how to get ships through the straits so that the neighbors can conduct commerce. Despite the thoughts of the PoliBoard for an easy win when we put our foot on the gas, this is proving to be difficult. I mean, I'm just looking at what's going on.

"there is talk" meaning talking points of the left. Got it.

Sally, sometimes a situation requires more than two sentences. You agree with that right?

Well, the clock is ticking and we've not done it yet. Can you admit this has not been easy peasy?

Perhaps... but I find brevity to be more engaging than walls of text.

Well Sally, you either didn't read it and gave a knee jerk reaction or you read it and gave a knee jerk reaction. TBH, I didn't think it would be a popular topic with upvotes and pats on the back.

Are you saying you believe Iran is in charge?

I read it, as painful as it was. Seriously, learn to space and block.
I gave you my comment, don't know what else you were looking for.

Never trust a man who posts without paragraphs, when exceeding a few sentences.
There is talk of it
There is talk of it

I don't think it's possible with islamists... but you nor anyone else can say Trump didn't give them a chance.
Yes, he is giving it a chance. Let's say he has to go back to aggressive bombing etc. He has to take out infrastructure. Who will then be looking out for the seventy or sixty or ninety million Iranian civilian bystanders who will be without electricity, water or whatever? See, this is not simple.
Oh, I see, we shouldn't be concerned about that.

How bout pressing enter then tab at least once.

Let’s say the Iranians are right and Trump decides to throw in the towel and leave - he won’t just slip away quietly, he’s going to flatten Karge Island or take some other action that will cripple Iran for a decade.
But he/we can't just leave. It is not tolerable to allow Iran to develop a nuclear bomb. It is an existential threat.
I'm not sure people in this country recognize it is an existential threat.

That sounds like an Iran problem, a regional problem. No doubt it would also become our problem- which is why I imagine Trump is trying to avoid that tactic.

You say you want discussion... but you have a massive stick of sarcasm lodged firmly in your rectum. I'm not interested in engaging such antics.
Discuss or disperse.

what will we do to finish this?
What I’ve said all along…
1) Escalate. That means significant boots on the ground and pushing iran deep into a hot civil war.
Or
2) Leave and declare victory without attaining victory. That means the clerics and IRG remain in power, we don’t get the uranium, we don’t accomplish any strategic objectives, but we say we did.
1 would be a hot mess that no one but the Neocons and most hardened, true Trump disciples would support. So almost no one. It is unacceptable.
2 is failure but the only acceptable outcome.

Complete devastation of Iran.
Or their surrender.

Oh, gawd no. I listened to a retired Admiral and former special forces leader lay out how this can be a defeat for the US if we don't finish it correctly. Resist the temptation to label discussion left because you disagree with the premise. To me it is worthy of being discussed beyond well we are just going to kick their a*sses any day now.

the Iranians shut it down by attacking ships
Ha ha. A Ceasefire is NOT a "stalemate". You think we've run out of bullets, or the targets to use them on? We've stocked up and rested and are ready for round 2.
Trump is holding off totally destroying the infrastructure for a decade in respect and hope for the good people there who want their freedom. Other than that, the IRGC would be making fire by striking rocks together and being picked off at the few waterholes that have water.
A lot of those IRGC are guilty of heinous crimes against their people, and they have zero to lose by dying on the last noble 'martyrdom' hill. If they give in to Trump, they are going to die at the hands of their own people anyway. They are dead men walking. Just a matter of how long it takes.
"Iranian victory".

Not really. But they have sway over the straits for the reasons I mentioned. Some being, they continue to shoot armaments at ships and insurance underwriting is difficult to get currently. Surrounding countries have lost significant revenue which is the objective of Iran. Iran has laid out threats against us if we facilitate passage of ships. So there it is right in front of you. So how long will we tolerate this?
