It’s going to get interesting when Trump doesn’t have the votes for this “treaty” - unless the Middle Eastern countries (Israel included) and the EU cover the costs. There isn’t a representative alive that is running for reelection that can vote for it

You might want to educate yourself before removing all doubt of your stupidity.

“In U.S. law, peace deals (or peace treaties) are governed by the Treaty Clause of the Constitution. It grants the President the power to negotiate treaties, but they only become legally binding after receiving the advice and consent of the Senate, requiring a two-thirds supermajority vote.“

Aside from any concrete details of the deal you're commenting on? Have you seen it? If so, can you link it here?

The imperial presidency has been with us for decades. Congress loves giving up their power to avoid hard choices.

• Ending the fighting: The U.S. and Iran declared a permanent end to military operations on all fronts, including the Israel-Hezbollah fighting in Lebanon.
• Strait of Hormuz: Iran clears its mines and keeps the strait open with no tolls, while the U.S. lifts its naval blockade on Iranian ports.
• Sanctions: Oil and some financial sanctions are lifted, with relief tied to Iran’s compliance.
• Frozen funds: Roughly $24 billion in Iranian assets are to be unfrozen, half before final negotiations begin.
• $300B reconstruction fund: The U.S. has offered Iran access to a $300 billion reconstruction fund contingent on Iran fulfilling its obligations, with funds barred from supporting terrorism or destabilizing the region.
• Nuclear: Iran reaffirms its NPT commitment to not produce nuclear weapons, but enrichment and uranium disposal are deferred.
• Sovereignty: The U.S. commits not to interfere in Iran’s internal affairs and to respect the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic.
• 60-day window: Final talks on nuclear, remaining sanctions, and UN/IAEA resolutions happen only after Iran implements its initial commitments.

Vance was on TV today saying that money was coming from "the Gulf States"
I'll guess we'll see how it all shakes out, and if that was just a soundbite generalization or if the US will have some skin in the game, but it doesn't seem like the US is wiring 300 billion to Tehran

We aren’t at war with Iran, congress never declared war on Iran.
It’s a political commitment, not a treaty. Think of it like Obama’s Iran deal that never went through congress.

You people are so dumb. It's funny that you just put it on display without anyone even asking you to.

I have a hard time seeing Iran agreed to it since the next president, or Trump, can tear it up at any point in time and they already got screwed by that badly

He thought he was being clever with "surrender package". I bet he surrenders to packages in his mouth often.
