Especially when you consider how many Republicans voted for RBG, Sotomayor, and Kagan. All three who are extremely partisan.
Setting aside for the moment whether or not those 3 are as partisan & activist as BK has been in his life and career, all 3 were passed with 60+ votes, not 51. I think that's a significant difference. Now it's fair to say that's at least partially a reflection of the political times we're in more than it has to do with Trump, but regardless Trump is exasperating the issues rather than improving them.
I don't want to see the day where every SCOTUS appointment is passed or rejected solely upon party lines, but that seems to be where we're going. I'm not putting 100% of the blame on trump, but at least in this instance I think he has to take more than 50% just based on who he nominated.

Didn't vote for Trump and certainly don't lick his boots, and I don't think I've been called part of the "lunacy of the left."

just cant get past the fact that Trump has NO moral compass and what he says means nothing ....nothing.
His loyalty is only to himself country, family and our people mean nothing to him. Trump is about Trump.
Time will tell and the talent level of people around him will continue to deteriorate. You cant work for the guy and keep any self esteem.
His team has gotten stronger. Bolton, Pompeo.....better than the initial team.
If his loyalty was too himself he would be a centrist and make a billion dollars by selling our country down the river.
He has no moral compass? This I dont understand. Is he transparent, yes. But his kids love him, his wife is a strong independent woman that holds her own views. His son in law is loyal and holds different views. In the real world you can fiercely disagree and still be very close.
You mentioned how Obama hurt the economy, but look abroad. The US was just taking it on the chin from everyone....every trade deal, every security organization.

What measurables bother you the most about the first 2 years of the Trump Presidency?
Expanding government surveillance on its citizens.
Fattening the MIC.
Spending like a progressive.
Expanding war and continuing the establishment agenda in the Middle East (see Yemen....and the recent surge in Afghanistan).
Replenishing the swamp - John Bolton, Rudy Giuliani, etc.
Fortifying the Federal Reserve for the establishment (see recent chairman nomination).
Like another poster said, this is just the things off the top of my head.

We are a deformed people of ten fingers and no thumbs.
We can only point and not demand decent leaders from our own party.
We have gotten what we deserve. Only a dope will work for Trump you get neutered and cast aside.

Your comment is, in no way, reflective of what I stated. It has nothing to do with Trump worship and more to do with the lunacy of the other side. My comments are making it about the left and only the left. There was no comment about Trump in anything I stated.
The left doesn’t talk policy, has no real agenda other than taxes, open borders and freebies. Its all about subversion and personal attacks or have I missed something?

Que??? Of course he does, he raised 5 children, doesn't drink and is loyal to a fault.
That's a gross misrepresentation TO YOURSELF if you believe it.

what he says means nothing ....nothing
That's not close to true, I can name hundreds of promises he's made and kept...sure, he hasn't fulfilled them all, but that is a constant CNN talking point.
quote:
country, family and our people mean nothing to him
Also not true...why would the most famous American real estate mogul get into dirty arse politics if he didn't see something wrong with the economy and actually want to fix it...for us?...dude is a billionaire, he's older, but he moves around like a thirty year old...not for himself...dude won't have a life after the presidency...
quote:
You cant work for the guy and keep any self esteem.
The military guys seem to hold up well...? Maybe selflessness is what it takes?
Your assessments are what asre repeated on CNN and MSNBC over and over again...are you actually watching what's going on, or getting it relayed from news networks.

1) There are still people living in America with skin colors other than white.
2) Gays and gender confused have't been killed.
3) No oil well in my back yard yet
4) Except for the normal gang members and occasional innocents caught in between I see no evidence of people dying in the streets.
5) For someone who is "Literally Hitler" his lack of a little mustache has to be considered a failure.
6)I still have quite a bit of money. Guess he hasn't got around to giving all my money to the big corporations yet. I'll keep you posted.

This. There is no way in hell a man like Secretary Mattis would serve under Trump if Trump was such a god awful person.

This is a perfect example of why I don't take this board seriously. If you don't lick Trump's boots, you're a part of the "lunacy of the left." Spoiler Alert: You don't have to be "left" to oppose Trump.
And clearly you glossed over this part of my post.

That’s the problem with your question. Perhaps there are libertarians and misguided nevertrumpers that can properly discuss policy, but not a left progressive supporter. It’s all or nothing for that crowd.

Because he nominated a white male?
Kavanaugh was about as benign of a pick as anyone could get from a Republican president. The left literally made up a sexual assault story. And somehow this is the President taking the blame?

The same people that exposed to the INTERNATIONAL media someone who wrote about staying private with allegations?
I just cant get past the fact that Trump has NO moral compass and what he says means nothing ....nothing
Those are some solid morals right there!
The list of immorality by the DNC goes on and on and on, the extent of which exceeds the limits of a forum like TD. But go ahead and hate on POTUS with that entire forest of trees still stuck in your own eye.

The Clintons and their foundation are the epitome of slime.
The DNC rigged their own primary to make sure to shut out Bernie.

I’m friends with one. (Not someone on this board, but he’s an intelligent dem.) He made a perfect score on his ACT and went to an excellent highschool and is now going to both George Washington University and Georgetown.
Basically He just doesn’t like the President. He says he’s divisive. He doesn’t like his language, and his walking in front of the queen/“breaking protocol” left him aghast. He says he’s not fit to be president and that he’s an unintelligent narcissist. He says we are fools to believe he genuinely cares about us.
However, he’s gay and admits the President supports gay people, And he admits ANTIFA is nuts and wishes they’d just go away and quit their craziness.
Regarding issues and policies:
He doesn’t believe the wall will fix anything. He’s says we’d spend all this money and the illegals would come in another way. I told him it would reduce the amount who come in. He disagrees.
He also throws out the “it’s cruel because some people are seeking asylum from abuse” argument
He is a staunch supporter of planned parenthood so our wanting to defund it gets him in a tizzy.
He says Pres trump promised to reduce the deficit but has not. And he doesn’t agree with more military spending. When I say taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to pay for abortions, he throws this out at me: “Well, with that mentality, there’s a lot of military decisions many taxpayers disagree with, but we are still forced to fund the military.” (He is not anti-military. He didn’t like that Pres Trump increased military spending, however.)
He’s worried Judge Kavanaugh will make gay marriage illegal, so he thinks the Pres should have appointed someone else.
He was mad about some rule the president changed about homosexual ambassadors. He said unlike a hetero ambassador/ diplomat, Obama made it to where a homosexual ambassador did not not have to be married to their partner to bring their partner with them to America because gay marriage isn't an option in some countries. Pres Trump just “overturned” this. like heterosexual couples, they now have to be married in order for their partner to be granted citizenship. He says that’s unfair.
He doesn’t believe the right to bear arms should be taken away, but he thinks there needs to be regulations on the types of guns citizens can purchase.
He used to love Rachel Madcow but now he says he doesn’t. He says she emotionally lectures her viewers feeding them all kinds of opinions of hers while telling them these opinions are facts or are laws. He says Judge Jeanine does the same thing. He can’t stand Judge Jeanine. He thinks Don Lemon is nauseating, and he loathes Tucker. His favorite journalist is Anderson Coooper. He thinks he hung the moon and says he is honest in his reporting.
He thinks it’s dumb that the Dems keep trotting out stormy Daniels. He says it’s no one’s business who people have consentual sex with except for that person’s spouse if the person is married.
I can tell he thinks Blasey Ford was lying. However, he says that due process isn’t necessary in qualifying for the Supreme Court. He says Ford didn’t have to prove Kavanaugh was guilty because it wasn’t a trial. I can tell he knows that this is wrong considering that if this becomes the standard then any one and everyone can accuse a nominee of anything and everything with no proof moving forward. So what I think he’s doing here is lying because he just didn’t want Kav to be seated. He’s rolling with the “by any means necessary”
Lying is ok here because Kav might overturn Roe and gay marriage.
I can tell he knows he’s wrong on the wall. He just has to vomit the talking point he’s given by his professors etc on this issue so that his peers don’t think he’s racist. He knows the wall is a security issue though and that supporting it doesn’t make you racist.
The other “concerns” of his are genuine though. He truly thinks they are problems and he’s not just spewing them to fall in line with Dem marching orders

Implicit in you response is the assumption that anyone who would engage in the OP’s discussion MUST be a part of the “lunacy of the Left.”
