Thanks. I'm aware of him. Williams was one of just a handful of black conservatives of his generation.
Sometimes I wonder if there will ever be more than a handful of black conservatives in any one generation. They don't care to listen to somebody like me, and that's fine, but they would do well to listen to any black conservative who would tell them to stress education, stay child-free until they complete their education & start drawing a paycheck (and preferably get married), and stop worrying about whether or not the whole world likes them.
Nobody is universally liked. But as long as you don't interfere with my ability to pursue my goals, why should I give a damn whether or not you like me? Personally, I don't care.

The soft bigotry of low expectations is the worst enemy of black people. Yes, white liberals are the worst purveyors of it.
But, I don't need to eschew the helping hand of a white person. I need to get out from under the patronizing pat on the head from the hand of ANY person.
My dad said "I provided you everything while you could do nothing - I provided you something while you could do some things - I FAILED you if I cannot eventually provide nothing because you can do everything"
He purposely exposed me to successful (white) people and told me to learn from their success. They were ALWAYS willing to help / teach me.
I don't give a sick rat's arse what color the helping hand is OR the color of the skin that pats on the head.

Walter is great however my all time favorite black conservative is Thomas Sowell. In fact he's one of my all time favorite conservatives period.

And that is nothing compared to the belief by black men that raising kids is a death sentence. Kids having no access to fathers because of jail is just an frequent convergence of two different behaviors.
75% of black kids aren't fatherless because of jail.
