I think you are recalling the time he went to buy socks and had to borrow money from one of the guys on SS detail.

I've entertained the fantasy of opening a southern cooking restaurant in England.

Those blokes need Mee-Maw's biscuits and gravy in their pale lives.

It would potentially do well. It reminds me of the episode of The IT Crowd where the popular spot is called Messy Joe's, half western steak/bbq and half Mexican.

My wife did a year of study abroad in the UK in the early 2000s and some folks there are obsessed with American culture. One couple she met had this fantasy of being the star quarterback and head cheerleader. The guy had even managed to find and buy a left hand drive Corvette.

The divide between American football and soccer is at its narrowest when it comes to college football. If you made the place a hangout for American ex-pats to watch CFB in the fall, locals who would come for the food would instantly recognize the passion of SEC fans, specifically.

I couldn't give a rip about the game of soccer itself, but I love me some Welcome to Wrexham and Ted Lasso. That this event doesn't happen during CFB season is my only gripe, because if you put a bunch of these baws in Death Valley at night, BDS or Between the Hedges, it would create fans for life.

When my wife’s (no pics) family first visited from Australia to the United States , they said the experience of everything was way beyond their expectations. Everything from what was available for your home to restaurants to visiting the mountains and seeing Disneyworld, it blew their minds. And the general friendliness of people in the south. Simple things like strangers waving when you drive past or people holding a door open for you.

Far fewer rape gangs as well. Probably a big plus

The 2A will guarantee that the threat of picking some girl who's toting a wireless hole puncher will eternally hold those filthy savages at bay on a grand scale compared to some place like England, where they gave up their right to bear arms because they got super sad at a pair of school shootings in the 1990s.

I'm usually not a human interest story kinda guy, but I've been finding these accounts of the tourists to be absolutely fascinating. Mrs. Vox's news feed has been inundated with the stories too.

There are a couple of English guys (Josh & Jace) who have a huge social media following as they encounter the same things that the World Cup folks are just now discovering, only they've been doing it for the past 5 years or so.

I asked AI why there is no Ranch in Europe and it said because it is banned over there. Not the flavor itself, but the preservatives it takes to keep it fresh enough for shipping. Europe has basically banned all food preservatives, coloring, dyes, etc. Most American products simply won't get past customs.

I just recently started making my own and it's radically superior to any bottled shite that's commercially available.

So you know the story of Dee Ford? She's an English surveyor who accidentally had her Twitter account tagged by Auburn's former athletic director, thinking he was tagging the former Auburn defensive standout. English Dee Ford has become a diehard Auburn fan, comes every year or two for football games, has been a guest lecturer.

There's another guy, goes by BritishAUFan who happened to randomly see the Kick Six and became a fan. He's made several trips over.

Apparently there are a few pubs in London that show college games and it's becoming a very popular hangout.

Yeah, there's an English Bulldogs fan that has been adopted by Dawgnation. The school has loaded him up with swag when he's come over for games, hosts watch parties at a pub when he's back home, etc.

I imagine we all have those folks among us for great stories.
