Orthodox and Roman Catholics shouldn't be fighting each other.
Both were the same church until 1054, so, both were together longer than they've been apart.
Even today, the two churches share so much in common.
Anyway, Why is this thread on Political Talk? This topic has NOTHING to do with politics.

Thanks, that's the best kind of correct.

The Roman Catholic church has GOT to do a better job educating its catechist on church history. They're almost as bad as protestants. Almost.
Your fake creed sucks. It’s missing the original part about how the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the son. Enjoy your eternal hellfire.

orthodox churches disagree with one another as much as they do the universal church. The Holy Spirit has moved several orthodox churches to return to communion with the Holy See led first by Peter not a patriarch.

So you hate God AND America?
Go figure.
Go figure.

quote:Yep. The Papacy and filioque were terrible, heretical inventions by Rome. I'm glad to see Leo is having second thoughts on the filioque. Eastern rite Catholics don't say it in their creed, just like the Orthodox don't.

Roman Catholics can be such a prideful people (like the guy I replied to), and yet are so incredibly uniformed on church history.

I've warmed up to the idea of multiple wives.
Send them all to work while I go fishing.

I see my joke went right over your head.

I love America every bit as much as you.
God doesn't exist, at least not in the form of an all-knowing, all-loving, all-powerful entity. Usually it it is a harmless enough myth, except when people who claim that God speaks to them directly get into positions of power. Perhaps the laws of physics that the universe follows could be called God, but I suspect that is not what you are referring to.

That’s not love.

Of course you are an atheist.
Then again, communazis are.

The God of the Bible does exist. The evidence is all around us. Morally, mathematically, logically, and so on. That God is a perfect, immaterial, and unbounded spirit consisting of one nature in three persons. The second person of this one God is Jesus Christ--God in the flesh. Jesus is God who entered into creation to be a representative and substitute for humans made in His image who fall into sin and cannot stand before a holy God on our own. Jesus obeyed the requirements of obedience for us and died on the cross to bear the punishment that we deserve. In doing so, He procured eternal life for those who receive it by faith.
There is a God, and He created you and sent His Son to die so that you and I could be forgiven for the offenses we give to Him through our sinful/lawless behavior.
Turn from your atheism and embrace your Creator and Savior by trusting in Him for forgiveness and salvation. There is no hope in atheism, only nihlism and eventual suffering.

I think of myself as a Deist, like many of the Founding Fathers.
But this the Political Talk forum, not the Religious Talk forum, so my religious views are not relevant.
Nor are anyone elses.
Religion does not belong in politics. Public policy should be based upon reason, not faith.

Also, please know that I do sincerely appreciate your kind comments, even though I do not share that faith.
I am reminded of the time when I was in the hospital recovering from a critical condition. As I was walking the halls connected to an IV tree, a person came up to me, put their hands on me, and started speaking in tongues. I didn't quite know what was happening at first, but then realized that they were praying or calling out to a holy spirit, or something along those lines. Even though I didn't share their belief, I did appreciate their gesture. Likewise with you. Thank you again, I wish you well, and hope you have a happy Thanksgiving.

What's it like to have all the answers, and always being right?
Evidently when you are so self-impressed, you enjoy cursing others who happen to have a different opinion.
It is possible to disagree without being disagreeable, did you know?

Not really.

About most things…yes.
There are, however, lines in the sand. I don’t jive with far left zealots. I refer to them (properly) as communazis.
It is what it is.
You, Bama Mountain, VOR, low-t, decayed terd, etc. have posted enough to expose yourselves.
ETA
You should be happy now. Two National Guardsmen were just killed by your ilk.
