Venezuela will soon become the second country, behind the UAE to withdraw from OPEC in the last 4 months. They intend to become an "oil powerhouse" in partnership with the US, crippling OPEC's control. This allows us to get out of the middle east.
This is the plan. Trump has already committed to a long-term withdrawal from the middle east. This is what has to be done before that can happen.

Yes, some can but their oil is not ideal. Everything works at the right price. The real issue is whether Venezuela can unclusterfrick itself enough to get Big Oil to be willing to dump the requisite CAPEX to get them fully online. This may or may not require further US intervention.

New and better days. Trump is separating the western hemisphere from the rest of the world. Putting us in a position to be completely self sufficient. If Europe decides to self implode so be it. Asia(China) can try to clean up the mess over there.

It means gas and diesel prices will be lowered by maybe a few pennies, at most, because Brent and wti are still globally traded commodities and ME oil is still being stifled at a tremendous rate because of Hormuz/Iran, so the world supply will still be significantly low for the foreseeable future.
And let's say, it does affect prices and they can fill the giant void with raw output, it still doesn't matter because we aren't going to build 50 new refineries in three weeks to process it. Even if we can build 3, it will take a decade of permitting and osha and construction and planning.

None of this oil will come online for 5-10yrs at best. You don’t just set up a rig and start drilling.

It should shake out pretty well. This is the type oil our refineries are BUILT to process. Most of the rest of the world is unable to handle it in their refineries. US refineries have imported and refined sour crudes from multiple countries and then put it out for consumption on the world market for quite some time now.

Ideally this happens here. I’d be surprised if anyone is willing to invest heavily in Venezuelan infrastructure.

Notice the countries that are supporting the US action in Iran. OPEC members. They know what the play here is. In order to cripple OPEC the members want Iran dealt with first. UAE has already withdrawn. Now Venezuela.
The larger play here is coming into view and it's ironic that people are calling Trump just another neo-con because of this Iran ordeal. It's actually exactly the opposite of the neo-con agenda playing out right before our eyes.
