My brother and sister in law spoke of the African and Asian countries views on gays. It comes from the years of missionary work done when the gay agenda was preached against very sternly . If it wasn't for the Africa delegation it would have passed a few years ago. I grew up hardcore Pentecostal as my grandfather was a minster. I quickly went away from my upbringing very quickly as a teenager. I started going to church with my wife who grew up Methodist. I call them the Hippies compared to Pentecostal's so i have enjoyed attending church with her. It's short to the point and there is no judgement .

• Banning large-capacity ammunition magazines and weapons designed to fire multiple rounds each time the trigger is pulled

They need to define “large-capacity” and the supreme court needs to address this anti-constitutional regulation for once.

“Multiple rounds each trigger is pulled” - If they mean full auto or burst fire then that is aready heavily regulated and difficult to obtain. If they made a grammatical error and are talking about semi-automatic then that would cover the vast majority of guns.

The Methodist Church hierarchy has been as pink as any progressive for decades. That is Hillary's church.

So this means they lose their non-profit exempt status, right?

My UM church has never once from the pulpit gone political. Nor outside of it that I know of. Wouldn't still be there if they did.
Perhaps thats what some folks look for or need but not my family.

Yeah - I don't know where these folks go/went to church but my Methodist Church is nothing like what they describe.

Universal background checks on all gun purchases

Difficult to do with person to person transactions, but if possible, let's see your plan for it.

Ratification of the Arms Trade Treaty

Nope! That would be not only a US gun registry but a international gun registry, get bent.

quote:

Ensuring all guns are sold through licensed gun retailers

Not possible as stated, how do I give my son a firearm, or pass them down upon death?

quote:

Prohibiting all individuals convicted of violent crimes from purchasing a gun for a fixed time period

CHECK. Already there, not always enforced. Hold the government accountable.

quote:

Prohibiting all individuals under restraining order due to threat of violence from purchasing a gun

Prohibiting persons with serious mental illness, who pose a danger to themselves and their communities, from purchasing a gun

Ensuring greater access to services for those suffering from mental illness

Don't see how this fits in with their gun control, but I agree we should give mentally ill people more options to un-ill

quote:

Establishing a minimum age of 21 years for a gun purchase or possession

If you aren't responsible enough to own a gun at 18, you aren't responsible to own a car or vote. Preach for those changes too.

Also, does that mean that there is no hunting prior to 21 also? hmmmm....

quote:

Banning large-capacity ammunition magazines and weapons designed to fire multiple rounds each time the trigger is pulled

two parter,

1) get bent, stop trying to restrict the amount of ammo a gun can hold. Start restricting the amount of guns the criminally insane can own. That kids should have never been allowed to see the outside of a cell, let alone buy a firearm.

2) I believe we already have "ban" on guns that fire more than one round with the pull of a trigger. How many automatics have been used in crime or murder over the last 30 years on US soil....I'm listening....

quote:

Promoting new technologies to aid law-enforcement agencies to trace crime guns and promote public safety.

I all for promoting policing methods, just don't infringe on my Constitutional rights. This sounds a whole lot like a gun registry on steroids, do they expect to not only register every firearm, but also have the government test fire every firearm prior to purchase in order to better track the "fingerprint" of the gun left on bullets? Or are they suggesting we somehow serialize every bullet in a way that they won't be destroyed upon firing and then register every bullet sold to the buyer?

Everything they are saying is "feel good" bullshite with no plan of implementation or way to police. It is a whole lot of nothing, that is only out there so that they can one day say "we tried", that provides nothing of substance and the only way to intact would be to completely shite on the rights of the people as protected by the Constitution.

Shut up and preach to me about God and faith, leaves this crap out of it.

Christian baptism is the immersion of a BELIEVER. If one believes they are already saved. Baptism is an act of obedience and a declaration of faith. It has no bearing on salvation whatsoever.

Don’t know about all that policy but Broadmoor here in BR is where it’s at.

“Love Jesus and take that love and give it to your neighbor as Jesus did”

It’s not hard. Love one another and don’t judge someone because they sin differently than you do.

And you know this how?
Scripture does not support your view.

It is apparent that many who embrace error discount the wittings of Paul.
While at the same time find their ability to be "Christians", given that most of us are Gentiles specifically because of the writings of Paul.

This goes to the start of the argument. People choose divisions/denominations because they wish to do what is right in their own eyes.

They refuse to do as commanded.

As scripture says wide is the road to destruction and narrow is the gate to salvation and few there be who find it.

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord and we will err on the side of scripture.

Is it REALLY necessary for you to type each one of your posts as if they were scripture themselves? Your enter key must be worn the heck out.

In many instances, the church is pushing the congregation, just not in a Christ-centric way.
They're herding the congregation - telling them what they want to hear to keep contributions coming. Don't kid yourself... harvesting $$ is a huge pre-occupation of churches. They know where to spread the fertilizer.

Yet another sounds good, un-scriptural, modern false doctrine. Add that one to other false doctrines like: saying the sinners prayer, asking Jesus in to your heart, and once saved always saved. All of those are False doctrines.

Doesn’t include “ALL” felons? Just those involved in violent crimes?

Are they trying to reduce that current gun law or eliminate it?

Gun-control control orgs started with churches in the late 1960's to early 70's. The NRA didn't change in a vacuum, they changed in response to these loons.

quote:

In 1974, the United Methodist General Board of Church and Society formed the National Coalition to Ban Handguns,[1] a group of thirty religious, labor, and nonprofit organizations, with the goal of addressing "the high rates of gun-related crime and death in American society" by requiring licensing of gun owners, registering firearms, and banning private ownership of handguns.
