Those numbers would easily be eclipsed in early September with a Tide loss to USC.

The rest of the country gets a taste of hurricane model mania. At least we sort of groomed for it down here.

My take...perhaps the models were wrong AND social distancing helped.

And that bed shortage? Nope, there will be a bed surplus according to the UW model, including an ICU bed surplus

What about the temp hospital in the convention center. Is that being used?

the model shows that GA & FL will be short on needed ICU beds, but AL, MS, SC, TN & NC will have extra beds

LA & AR are also projected to have extra beds & KY comes up 58 beds short

The virus itself is not a hoax but the overreaction was definitely orchestrated by the left wing. This may qualify as the largest domestic terrorist attack in our history all courtesy of the progressive left

For you non-data geeks, keep in mind that THIS IS THE MODEL THAT WAS PRESENTED L:AST WEEK THAT 240,000 WOULD DIE.
This is completely false.

It originally predicted about 84,000 deaths then rose to 94,000 deaths and is now back near its original prediction. It’s been referenced in a number of articles as a counter to the 100,000 to 240,000 projections.

240,000 U.S. Virus Deaths Don't Have to Happen
quote:

This model, which assumes much more rigorous lockdown measures will be broadly implemented soon, predicts a mean death toll of around 94,000. But it also carries a warning: Its latest projection, while lower than the others, has climbed 10,000 since its initial release last week.

Yeah, this model was never projecting 240,000 deaths, they were projecting 94k. So good news but also fake news

Yeah..... WTH? Is it because of so much diabetes, overweight people, and too much rib and BBQ eating down here?

So does anybody think that with the strict lockdowns, maybe the China numbers were honest after all?

Jersey and Michigan have more deaths than Louisiana...just saying. New Orleans is a big outlier at the state level but it will be surpassed by others on the national stage (not wishing that just pointing out the obvious).[/quote]

Was looking at it late last night and Louisiana is outside of the top 20 for projected deaths.

Did y'all catch what Fauci said at yesterday's COVID19 update presser? Dude said up to 50% of COVID19 victims are a symptomatic.........if he's anywhere near accurate with that percentage it means the mortality rate is gonna be well below 1%

What are they looking like on a per capita basis though?
