that doesn't even make any sense and is completely irrelevant to whether the McMichaels committed murder or not, do you have a problem comprehending things?

If you say so.

They're still gonna walk

Yes he was. If you confront someone while brandishing a weapon, that is assault 100% of the time.

Nah, if they're in your house it's not that cut and dried.

On the street, most likely.

But, based on the information we have, the McMichaels didn’t have immediate knowledge of a felony.

Nor were weapons "reasonable force" in dealing with a guy on foot when they were in a truck. He wasn't going to outrun them. If nothing else, they could have simply followed him until the cops caught up.

If there was a video of these two rednecks hanging a black man from a tree, some of you would still find a way to defend it.

Fact.

You're an idiot.

"But a citizen can only use reasonable force to detain a person and deadly force cannot be used unless it’s to prevent a forcible felony or for self-defense.

It's almost like he was a criminal who had just committed a crime and the last thing he wanted to do was talk to police.

IMO the most likely outcome will be a plea negotiation resulting in plea to lesser grade homicide offense. Prosecution will have its hurdles to be concerned with that will drive them to enter plea negotiations, and the father and son will not be too keen on gambling with the consequences of a felony murder verdict.

Although IMO the prosecution has a sound enough case to run with as currently charged. That's subject to change due to potential new developments that could imperil their case. Of course that's always a factor in every prosecution.

I don’t know how Georgia Courts have ruled on this. It it seems unlikely they’ve interpreted the rule as giving citizens carte blanche to use lethal force

The most likely outcome is that they try to find a corrupt leftist judge and they try to taint the jury as much as possible and both McMichaels are convicted and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and the media gets to say that it proves Whitey just likes to go around killing "innocent black joggers".

I would say someone trying to take your gun qualifies under this.

Sure. They called the police so they could murder him and then be arrested... Really?

Then you would be one stupid mother fricker.

"Since the McMichaels initiated the confrontation with the weapons it will be difficult for them to claim self-defense and what appears on the security video doesn’t justify their actions, he said. "

This. I’m reserving judgement. On first glance, the video appears pretty damning. However much like statistics, while video doesn’t lie, it’s very possible to lie with video. I’m content to wait and see how it all shakes out.

The first videos from the news were cut up with pieces missing which was dishonest manipulation.

There are full uncut versions which are around on YouTube and other news sites which tell the whole story of the immediate fight and shooting. I'll reserve judgement.

A jury will get to see the event in full HD.

Unless you're in the wrong at the time. Most certainly if legally in the wrong. Much like a bank robber couldn't claim self-defense if a teller is shot and killed while attempting to disarm the robber.

I'm sure these idiots think they called the racist Georgia police so they could all celebrate after they killed the innocent black jogger.
