My best theory: Dude takes regular walks and every week or so and occasionally would walk in the house under construction and see the progress. Dudes assumed the worst (he was there to rob the place), confronted him on it, it got heated and into a fight, white dude got overwhelmed and shot him.

You are missing the part of stolen fishing gear and stolen hand gun from the neighborhood. Not saying he did any of those things, but thats the reason the neighbors thought he was up to no good, they have been having issues. Which is why the original 911 call was made.

The suspicious part to me is Ahmaud sprints out of the house and down the street. For essentially being caught.

Yes he was. If you confront someone while brandishing a weapon, that is assault 100% of the time.

100%, THE DUDE ACCOSTED THE DUDE HE WAS STALKING WITH A SHOTGUN, totally agree by itself that's textbook assault

100%, if that dog won't hunt then they'll have to attempt stand your ground which likely won't even remotely work considering they were armed and brandished a gun at Arbery

Who guilty person runs right down the middle of the street to evade pursuers in an automobile?

**Doesn't seem reasonable on its face.

Ok. Let's say you are correct. Does that give the "jogger" the right to attack someone and try to take their gun?

If those people are trying to impede his movements and a reasonable person would feel threatened in his situation than yes.

Yes it does.

100% especially since the standard to detain increases for civilians compared to genuine LEOs unfortunately from a civil liberties perspective

The cops had been called. Why not just stop and wait for them to come?

Not sure, he wasnt being pursued when he first took off. A man is across the street on his phone. The white guys follow him after he runs by their house which is 2-3 doors down. After all parties are off screen two cop cars come by, first one at normal speed, second one booking it.

If there was a video of these two rednecks hanging a black man from a tree, some of you would still find a way to defend it.

That's proving my point though, it's even worse that none of the evidence presented help their citizen's arrest claim particularly since the standard increases for civilians to detain others in that capacity

This is probably the stupidest comment made in all the threads on this topic.

By law, they CAN'T claim self defense.

They had the guns, and they had no right to stop him. End of fricking story.

The stolen fishing gear wasn’t even reported to the police. The gun theft was months prior. They’re both going to be irrelevant in this case.

How was the “jogger” supposed to know the police were coming and he should wait for them?
