Europe and Spain need this inspiration now, more than ever.

I thought it was quite nice, the interior was even more stunning with the multicolored stained glass windows.
Barcelona as a whole is a gem of a city.

It broke ground in March 1882.

Beautiful and different.

Pretty sure it hasn’t. It’s just topped out. There’s a whole other facade left to do.

God has a picture of it on his refrigerator, like when you put your kids drawings there to humor them

although the interior was awesome

This

The interior is stunning.

They had to use engineering software to understand his design.

He was a century ahead of his time.

The ceiling is supported by “branches” inspired by trees.

It is absolutely fabulous. Overwhelming integrity of a pure and organic structure. My favorite architectural piece.

I saw it about 10 years ago and it was incredible back then. Sometimes people say that a lot of those European cathedrals and basilicas blend together. Seen one and you have seen them all. Not this one. It is one of the most unique pieces of architecture I have ever seen. . I would love to go back to see the finished product.

We were just there in April and walked by at night where they did a light show on the exterior as this was around Easter. Then we did a golden hour tour so the light coming in was beautiful. People who say it's ugly haven't seen it up close. It can look a little ugly from far away pictures to some people. Not me, but I can understand. It's like the building is growing right in front of you and you miss the intricate details.

Yep, super cool inside too see everything.

The colors coming in through the windows change especially if you go closer to sunset

Yeah I can't remember exactly what the guide said, but it's complete in the sense of the highest tower is complete and the pope just blessed it. However, they're going to be doing more work until 2030 at least. And they will be tearing down a while neighborhood to do it! People have been living in these apartments since the 70s and will have to leave. Of course, the building owners are trying to fight it now, but they were told then that this area will be SF.

Toured it last week. The most awe inspiring structure I’ve ever seen.
