The RNC and Republicans in general are clueless at being effective

Back out of my stay in the TD gulag and needed to get a little spleen venting out of my sysyem.

The mainstream "Fox News Right" constant focus on Biden's mental faculties, in an indirect way benefits Biden. The media can paint it as the Republicans and the Fox News Right being mean and cruel, and mimosa moms eat it up. They relate to their own elderly parents getting slow.

The focus should always be on how downright sick, evil, heartless, and vile Biden is. His main focus right off the bat is to call half the country and his main political opposition Nazis and violent threats to the safety of the country. His other main priorities are creating unnecessary wars abroad resulting in thousands of unnecessary deaths, leaving our border wide open to hordes of 3rd worlders and criminals, making abortion as convenient as getting a flu shot at CVS (literally working to make abortion pill OTC at CVS and Walgreens), and castrating as many kids as possible, turning them into infertile eunuchs when they become adults.

And let's be honest. The Republican Party is almost just as much ate up with DEI crap as the Democrats, just not as in your face about it. Just look at the last 3 SOTU responses. We are more concerned with image than actually being effective. There were so many better options they could have chosen from, including Mark Robinson (who would have checked one of those boxes, but not why I like him), Rand Paul, JD Vance, or maybe even Trump himself would have made sense.

No, it doesn't. Make them stand up for a brain damaged pedo. Force them to own it.

Yes, we ARE being mean to Joe. That's the point. There are times when calling this stuff out is necessary.

Now is that time.

That needs to be abolished. It was unnecessary and embarrassing. Biden's terrible speech now gets a bit of a pass because of that shite show.

You're overthinking this.

They harp on it because 80% of the public say it's a huge issue.

My recently passed mother had advanced dementia, and Biden reminds me a lot of her. I can empathize while not wanting someone like her to be President. I guess that's just another reason the 19th Amendment was a terrible fricking idea.

Welcome back. Everyone here has lamented your absence.

Honestly, it would have been better if the Republicans didn’t do a rebuttal. That speech by Biden was psychotic bull shite, as expected, and was shitty enough to let stand on its own without even needing to counter it. Especially when you consider the Republicans usually frick up the rebuttal like they do almost everything else.

He’s corrupt. He’s evil. And he’s a potato.

Agreed, but there was no chance in hell the Republican DC leadership was going to let any of those guys speak. McConnell flat out hates Vance and barely tolerates Paul and Trump.

They aren’t clueless. They’re just in on it because they are the controlled opposition. Their job is to keep those that care and will fight, out of positions of power.

The abortion thing is funny.

It’s a states issue now. The democrats don’t want it legal.

He even says it, they need the women to vote on abortion.

I said in another thread that Katie Britt last night reminded me of Meghan Markle in victim mode. Her entire performance was likely some GOP consultant running the script through a Madison Avenue ad team with the idea of channeling the victim characteristics of Meghan Markle to appeal to white suburban woman drinking rose' on the couch in front of the TV.

I didn’t watch either Biden or the response, but from the extraordinary melt here, Biden must have been passably good and the response by the republican must have been baaaaad.

I did not watch them either but viewed a bunch of highlights after. My takeaway from viewing highlights is Biden comes alive in a bad way when he is angry and for Katie Britt's rebuttal, she was channeling the Meghan Markle victim for the suburban wine mom vote.

From a strategic point it is effective. Biden's handlers probably correctly deduce that getting after Trump and his hardcore base is a no lose proposition. He may not be scoring homeruns, but he figures small ball is good enough. There is enough discontent in the GOP with Trump that going after him and his fervent followers could payoff . For Biden a 5-4 win after 9 innings is just as preferably to a 9-0 blowout....same for Trump. But can Trump pull disaffected more Democrats than he already has. To put in baseball terms, aside from having a homerun slugger, how is his pitching and fielding?

Biden’s singular task is to demonstrate that he isn’t demented. If he can do that, democrats will rally against Trump.

While that is not where we as a country should be, that’s the contest as i see it at this point.

So small ball. No one gets a real blowout on either side. So assuming hitting is equal, it comes down to defense and who has the better pitching and fielding. An error on either side can be the determining factor.

I don't think they're clueless. They know exactly what they're doing.
