This is the 21st century, and we still install roofs using 17th century methods, except for the pneumatic nail gun.
It is high time that products were developed that would allow for automated installation, or perhaps factory installation on penalized products. They could probably even meet that 200 mph wind code and wouldn't be as constrained by factors such as weight.
Robots and automation show up for work every day too.

58% of white Americans have a bachelors degree. That means at least 8% of those have below average IQs. ?? We have way too many degreed space eaters

How about the construction industry figuring its shite out? Just because construction struggles to hire, train and retain good American workers doesn't mean the rest of us are compelled to subsidize those businesses through illegal immigration.

I am talking about debating the issue of labor shortages and pathways for temporary permits in good faith.
I agree that amnesty is not a good solution, and I would push back on the app using that terminology. Bringing illegals out of the shadows with TEMPORARY work permits is a different thing.

Temporary work VISAs are fine, so long as we see a need and see the need can't be met.

Get the frick out of here. Their kids or grandchildren will have grown up in the exact same environment as American children and have the same work ethic.

What little I’ve been around them working, they do put forth a lot of effort but they lack problem solving capability and that becomes an issue when trying to explain how to address the problem due to language barrier

True but it would also cause a massive recession as many farms and businesses would fold as prices plummet. Possibly so many would go under that there would be a supply shortage leading back to inflation then it would level out to normal as production would start to increase.
Not saying we shouldn’t deport the illegals, just pointing out we let it get so bad that it will cause some economic pain

Case in point: I had some flooring done recently. American guy said it was a 3-day job. We scheduled him, but then he flaked out, wouldn’t come out to the job for one reason and then another. Finally got fed up, contacted a Mexican guy Friday night, him and one other dude showed up the next Monday morning, they did the job in one day, and they did a great job. We paid them the same as the American dude was going to get.

My opinion, I would say most aren’t against immigration. But there is a process. Unfortunately, the process wasn’t enforced and we are dealing with the aftermath. Unfortunate for those impacted and those enforcing.
