As previously stated

Who allowed the plane to take off?

Who was on the plane they didn't want to make it to the Ukraine?

Use your life experiences and ask questions on anything that doesn't make sense.

Taking off when missiles had been flying doesn't make sense. Was this a charter?

You’re over thinking all of this. It was a normal flight and no one of importance on it. It was shot down by AA defenses on accident by a trigger happy Iranian and now they are trying to cover it up to avoid the internal backlash of such a screwup.

1. Plane was shot down in a stupid attempt to blame US.
2. Plane was shot down by stupid soldiers.
3. Was a accident.

I lean toward 1 or 2.

I watched CNBC this morning and it was "very unusual" that the jet would crash so soon after takeoff, but not one mention of a potential missile taking it down. Not once.

I'd bet a month's salary on 2... they're not stupid enough to try 1, and someone definitely pulled a trigger, so I'm not sure how it could be called an "accident." Some dipshit Iranian saw a radar signature and didnt know what the frick was going on and overreacted thinking the yanks were about to drone strike his SAM site.

Airplane engines don't just catch fire in flight. When was the last time you heard of a passenger jet engine having an engine just catch fire?

This theory carries weight. Although, it would seem to be a special level of stupid for the Iranian military to do that considering it was right by the airport.

I think the Iranians are refusing to hand the black boxes over to Boeing. That only makes the whole thing even more sketchy.

Not the day for a normal flight.

I have not the research to see how many other normal flights went out that night.

My issue has less to do with whether or why/how (accident, etc.) it was shot down. My issue is that the entire possibility is being avoided like somebody farted in a stuck elevator.

I keep seeing this but I don’t believe it. This isn’t some soldier with his finger on the trigger of a machine gun in a war zone. It’s an AA missile battery. Surely it’s a bit more involved and complicated to track a target and launch a missile than it is to just squeeze a trigger.

The report I just read said fire and they were heading back to ariport.

Every track of the plane's trajectory shows a u-turn back to the airport before the final crash.

That leads me to believe it was not a missile strike. Seems unlikely that a non-military aircraft carrier would have any controlled maneuverability after an AA missile strike. Would have to be a very luck circumstance, imho.

Now - I would like it to be a missile strike - for any number of reasons = some contradictory with each other but all good.

- Iran command and control very sloppy - and made a big mistake. < most likely reason

- Iran eliminating trouble makers < could be good or bad.

Sure sounds like a missile strike - but I still don't undersand the controllability after the strike.

A 737 will fly on one engine supposedly.

It’s interesting that the Tehran Times has no comment on the cause of the crash. The news source also says that there were 147 Iranians and 32 foreigners on the manifest.

I thought about this... now I'm not sure what kind of common language Ukranian pilots are speaking to Iranian air controllers or whatever, but what if the plane WAS NOT supposed to take off and did... then was told to turn back to the airport, and at that point got shot down while they were trying to land.

I don't know anything about flying, but that seems very plausible... although I'm not sure if any other commercial flights were leaving the airport or landing around the same time?

My guess would be none...

Was it shot down? Very easy to tell. Black box will easily answer that question. hmmmmm the blackbox belongs to Ukraine. Hhmmmm why would Iran withhold proof they did not shoot it down?

I do not think anyone on that plane was a target.
