wow, if true, you must be poor. I've paid more in federal tax since Biden took over than I've ever paid in my life, but I'm in the highest tax bracket.

Did your income increase or did you actually pay more taxes in the same income? We paid more taxes too, but my wife and I hit a major growth spurt in both our careers.

But the truth is that his proposed tax cuts will benefit the wealthy at the expense of low- and middle-income Americans

If you are actually in this category, it would be pretty easy to calculate before/after. And if it actually went up, you need a cpa

This premise that the tax cuts hurt is ridiculous. If anything they spared a ton in the middle class from disaster.

Of course the tax cuts will lead to deficits if you continue approve awful spending that there is no money for and ignore the circumstances of Covid and how it impacted the economy.

Uncontrolled spending is the issue. The tax cuts work if you control spending, but no the moronic left and the idiotic right couldn’t help themselves to continue spending whether on war, entitlements or buying votes.

That is the ultimate problem.

This is as bad as people thinking Clinton era policies led to the surplus instead of the inflated tech market that crashes as soon as Bush took over. Again, that somehow going into more deficit didn’t have anything to do magically with Clinton policies.

you should stop using the word 'retarded

quote:

until the 1960s, the terms moron, idiot, cretin, and imbecile were all genuine, non-offensive terms used, including by psychiatrists, to refer to people with mental intellectual disabilities and low intelligence. These words were discontinued in that form when concerns arose that they had developed negative meanings, with "retard" and "retarded" replacing them.[6][7] After that, the terms "handicapped" (United States) and "disabled" (United Kingdom) replaced "retard" and "retarded". Disabled is now considered a more polite term than handicapped in the United States as well.

Sorry that you're disabled.

I paid more in taxes last year than you likely made, if we’re being honest

You are a Liar and are trying to mislead the new workers by trying to sway their vote. I am now retired, but when I was working and Trump was in office, my taxes dropped substantially from Obama’s tax and spend policies..

Trump didn’t cut taxes for all in reality but that was a good thing. He stopped rewarding ridiculous states like Cali and New York from putting their income tax burdens on other states. It never made sense to have SALT tax breaks in places that intentionally inflated values and chose to have high tax rates.

By simplifying and streamlining the taxes, he made it better for the majority of Americans in each bracket. Those abusing the SALT deductions were the ones that do pay more and rightfully should pay more.

States should not be allowed to use federal income taxes to subsidize their high tax rates.

Mine went up under Trump as well because I made so much money under his policies that I jumped to the highest tax bracket.

Go Figure: Federal Revenues Hit All-Time Highs Under Trump Tax Cuts

quote:

Taxes: Critics of the Trump tax cuts said they would blow a hole in the deficit. Yet individual income taxes climbed 6% in the just-ended fiscal year 2018, as the economy grew faster and created more jobs than expected.

The Treasury Department reported this week that individual income tax collections for FY 2018 totaled $1.7 trillion. That's up $14 billion from fiscal 2017, and an all-time high. And that's despite the fact that individual income tax rates got a significant cut this year as part of President Donald Trump's tax reform plan.
