Have you seen Mariupal? They are demolishing all of Eastern Ukraine that doesn't submit, sending people to filtration camps, and trying to obliterate their elites and their language and national culture. That's how they're planning to "assimilate" them.
Cities in the east and south have been destroyed or partially destroyed and they’ve also been depopulated. I think Russia is fine with this…. people flee and don’t return…. blank slate.

Putin to undergo cancer surgery, transfer power to ex-FSB chief: report
Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to undergo cancer surgery and temporarily hand over power to a hardline former federal police chief, according to a new report.
Putin will transfer control of Russia’s government to Nikolai Patrushev, head of the Russian federal police’s Security Council, while he is incapacitated during and after the procedure, according to a video from the mysterious Telegram channel “General SVR” on Saturday.

Be a shame if he didn't wake up from that or if they gave him an extra helping of polonium

Same thing happened to Donbass from 2014-2022 except it was the Ukrainians executing their de-russification campaign.

And they should run every Russky into Russia as part of this war. They’re going to win with Western help and they should seal their eastern border afterwards.

When MOA can back up those numbers like Oryx does with the Russian losses I'll begin to listen.

It seems to me like what has happened in the war so far is:
1. The Russians attempted to blitz Kiev to cause the government to collapse and failed.
2. The Russians saw significantly more success in the South and East
3. After failing to push into Kiev, the Russians pulled their troops out of the north and redeployed them in the East. They decided to change their strategy from trying to force a quick capitulation and rule a relatively intact country to one of total war and attrition.
4. Their strategy is now finishing off their sieges of Ukrainian industrial port cities in the South to take control of the entire Black Sea coast.
5. Once they have succeeded in taking Mariupol and Odessa, they can link up with their allies in Transnistria while in the East, they will advance again on Dniepre and Poltava.
6. Then, they will attempt to close Ukraine's Western borders to the EU to stop the flow of outside supplies.
7. Finally, they will again attempt to hit Kiev from all sides.
Meanwhile, it appears the Western strategy is clear:
1. NATO will announce some sort of Red Line where if Russia uses chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons that NATO will declare war.
2. Spooks (aka Azov Battalion) will launch a false flag chemical or biological weapons attack on Ukrainian citizens which they will blame on Russia to give justification for escalating the conflict even further.

You still seem to think that Russia has a semi-mighty military led by capable strategists. It is more clear than your blurred view that the West will arm Ukraine to the teeth with superior weapons and train their soldiers to use them.
The goal of President Zelensky is to drive every Russian fighter off every meter of Ukrainian soil. By drawing a red line, the West has assured him that that is possible by leveling the playing field.

The Ukrainians retaking Kherson is a lot more likely than the Russians capturing Odessa.

Interesting Analysis
What makes you think they can take Odessa? After over 2 months they haven't subdued Mariupol yet. They haven't taken over any major population centers since the 1st week of the war, have they?

Here is a map that I haven't seen before. It breaks down the deployment of the Russian BTG's by area.

This is all laughable… Russia doesn’t have the capability to pull off what it wants to in the Donbas… Odessa is a pipe dream.

They’re doing the opposite of what we did in Iraq. The immediate target isn’t territory, it’s the Ukrainian Army. Once they destroy it, they can take what they want.

So you are saying that their current objective in the east is not to take land, it's just to attrit the Ukrainian army?
Could be an explanation for why they really haven't had any major advances yet in the east.

Are we still doing this Russia thing or have we moved on to something else?

That is possible, I wish we could get better info on the losses of the Ukrainian armed forces.
I see where today the Ukrainian parliament voted to allow the Territorial defense forces to deploy outside of their local areas. Could be a sign that Ukraine needs the troops. That would give them about 100K to throw into the fight in the east.
