Russia fights sloppy at first, but they still manage to win at the end. We are talking about a country that’s took down Napoleon, Hitler, and unfortunately looking like us whom did the whole Russia is weak analysis beforehand.

Have you looked at the age demographics of Russia, China, and to some degree even India? It ain't pretty if you are looking 'long-term'. We actually have a large advantage demographically over those nations.

Our population growth has finally slowed significantly like our economy. It’s like Putin knew all this was going to happen.

Same reason they can’t give you a strategic answer to why the Russians should waste their manpower and resources on Kiev.

Right. That was this year. But the original post referred to the 'long-game'. Here is the long-game from the Pew Center - the same folks you just linked to.

"If current trends continue, the demographic profile of the United States will change dramatically by the middle of this century, according to new population projections developed by the Pew Research Center.1

The nation’s population will rise to 438 million in 2050, from 296 million in 2005, and fully 82% of the growth during this period will be due to immigrants arriving from 2005 to 2050 and their descendants. (Figure 1)"

Pew Projected Population

Now go look at China and Russia's projected demographics. China has an elderly population and their one-child policy doesn't help for future growth.

Russia also has an elderly population.

And nobody is immigrating to China or Russia.

In February Russia was rated to have the 11th largest economy in the world. Of course we are first and China is second. But Russia is behind Germany, the UK, Italy and etc.

People can spin it anyway they want to spin if, but this war has to be a big hit on their economy and in the way they are perceived as a nation. Who is going to want to do business with them?

Yes current trends…In 1950, the USSR, British Empire, French Empire, and etc still existed. Idk if you noticed but Russia benefits the most from climate change with having Siberia warm up and a lot of inland cities while most western cities are coastal based.

You are basing it off nominal which is the CNN cope scale. Last time I checked, the US embargoed Russia, so why is nominal even being thrown out here? Go by PPP and it’s actually #6. Y’all love this CNN data when it benefits you but when they tell you to lock yourself in your basement forever because of Covid Ohhh they are wrong now?!?

I googled World’s largest economies. The top link was this one, and it’s not CNN.

You love to paint objective posters as if they have an agenda, but you are the one here on a regular basis shouting the virtues of Russia and acting as if you are some kind of free thinker when you are definitely pro Russia.

That would be the end of us.

Yes

The Russians are doing what Washington has done. They’re importing people to work. In their case, it’s central Asians.

Yea, the US pumping out trannies and importing South American poors really has me excited about our future.

In any case, there is a big discrepancy in the over all population numbers of India and China combined which was my point. People act like Russia needs the west and Europe. The point about populations was that just China and India alone are enough to support an economy the size of Russia.

With a similar population size and GDP, Russia is essentially Mexico with nuclear weapons. If they’ve maintained their nuclear stockpile as well as they have their military…

Darn, I had always thought of Italy as not being a manufacturing giant but somewhere the Dolce Vita would be enjoyed.

Are you sure about those economy rankings?
