Gas was $3.89 this morning in North Alabama. That additional $1.11 must be taxes that your state government has added...

Average driver drives 15K miles. At 30mpg, that's 500 gallons a year. If gas is up $2 a gallon, that's 1000 a year or 83.33 a month. I saved that each month last year. Lets wait and see if we are in the same place this time next year.

??

The national average under Biden for his 4 years was over $4/gallon?

And before you start down that lame and tired road, no...not defending Biden's administration; and yes, Biden's peak was higher than we're seeing right now.

But when you make a statement of "we are now paying about what it was under Biden", are we talking just the Summer of 2022, or are we talking the average for Biden's term?

They better correct it by the midterms.

Anyone that thinks the the democrats would be better, they weren't voting for Republicans in the first place.

Wouldn't be fair to compare the average since Trump has only been in office a little over a year and biden had 4 years. I was paying $3.50 or so in Nov 2024. I paid $3.89 this morning.

Understood

But that will be the hot topic if it's not under control.

You and a lot of people here are disregarding turnout. If people think Trump 2.0 has not been what they thought, I’d wager they are more likely to stay home than they are to just switch over to Democrats. Enthusiasm for this administration is low.

Same location?

Only reason for me asking is that the national average is up over $1 per gallon vs. November 2024.

Either way....fine. Overall, we are a good bit up nation-wide vs. Nov. '24. Granted, some states, like California, have added to their gasoline tax since 2024, so I'm sure that's some of the effect when considering a nation-wide average.

guess what though man? if you put only 20$ in or only $40, you don't have to worry about spending 60+. 20 is 20 and 40 is 40.

Yep.

Assuming that's true, I was paying a little over $2 prior to Feb. The average for Trumps first year would be under the November 2024 average, meaning we saved money on gas during Trumps first year. I'm just giving back some of my savings.

I really don't understand this level of pussy/cognitive dissonance/disingenuous. We're you making threads thanking Trump when gas was so low? We're you making the threads when Gas was much higher for much longer under Biden? Does it really make you feel better?

According to ChatGPT, there were between 90-180 threads dedicated to gas prices being high from January 2021-November 2024 on just the Poliboard. That's roughly one a week, with the most happening in 2022.

To act like no one was complaining about gas prices then and are only doing it now because of "TDS" is what is truly "pussy/cognitive dissonance/disingenuous."
