I would find it more plausible if they had said it means to throw it away.
In the workplace and in school as a kid I often heard “86 it”. I only thought it meant to trash it, discard it, or throw it away. I never thought it meant kill it, but it is possible that I was naive and didn’t understand that it meant the same thing.

Because that's what it means. "Get rid of it" is the most common use, not "put a hit on someone".

Can’t call for the assassination of the President of the United States. Everyone knows this. He’s a former FBI director.
His hubris made him think he could get away with it.

Wait!
The comments you addressed to ...
"how soft you all are"
... were just addressed personally to me?
Really?
I'm honored ... I guess.
You are in a different orbit.

Of course. You would have to be a complete moron to not put that together
The argument is not what that means. Everyone knows what Comey was saying. The immediate responses to Comey showed that.
The left just thinks that a clever way of saying it makes it defensible. It doesn’t matter to them that he was actually saying to kill Trump.

I don't watch Fake Fox, but I saw a clip on YouTube where they were bending over backwards to equate the "86" term with only being a restaurant term.

He could have been sending a message to a hit team. It was definitely a threat and a statement to the President that he could get him.
Considering his connections to spook agencies, Trump has to take the threat seriously past and present.
He is not above the law. Remember this guy.
quote:
Craig DeLeeuw Robertson (July 1, 1948 – August 9, 2023) was an American firearm collector who received three felony charges, including threatening the president of the United States, interstate threats against government officials, and threats against federal law enforcement officers.
On August 9, 2023, FBI agents attempted to serve search and arrest warrants at his Provo, Utah, home.
Robertson resisted arrest and allegedly pointed a revolver at the agents, who shot and killed him.
James Comey is not above the law and better not resist arrest.

Yet they will delve 100 levels in order to twist the "okay" symbol into something that means "white power".

That guy that does a podcast that is rumored to be a former mob boss that was in the same jail as Epstein.... He said everybody knows 86 means to off someone.
86 also can be used in restaurants to get rid of an order...

"86" is an old mafia term meaning take the guy 8 miles out of town and put him 6 feet under. But yeah, that's harmless for the ex FBI director to take that pic so all these crazy TDS aholes can take matters into their own hands.
Comey FAFO'd.
Comey FAFO'd.

“Eighty-six or 86 is American English slang, generally meaning to "get rid of" someone or something.
In the hospitality industry, it is used to indicate that an item is no longer available, traditionally from a food or drinks establishment, or referring to a person or people who are not welcome on the premises. Its etymology is unknown, but the term seems to have been coined in the 1920s or 1930s.”

Those are rookie numbers.
We had a "lawyer" last week that claimed to be in court while putting up 25 posts per hour for fourteen straight hours.
