Louisiana rates are ridiculously high considering the population and limited urban areas. It is absolutely the result of the litigation climate, with the shitty conditions of the roads and infrastructure bringing up a close 2nd.

But, its not just the litigation, it's the industry on the plaintiff's side (especially the big advertisers). They have a checklist of medical treatment and providers for each level of liability coverage. The more coverage the other driver has, the more medical treatment (and recommended future medical treatment) the plaintiff will get.

Have an old beast that’s in rough shape and about to be replaced. Was thinking of keeping it around for trips to the dog park, hauling junk you don’t want in a new car etc... but it makes absolutely no sense at the insurance cost

Is there a "garage kept" or "weekend driver" policy available to you?

A lot of the R’s in office were D’s not too long ago (think mid 90’s).

Our state is not a fiscally conservative one. Or at least, our politicians aspire not to be

And?

They are allowed to pick and choose what area can sell what product.
As of now, they can write NO bew home business in louisiana (lafayette area for sure) but they call me 3 times a week trying to get my car insurance vusiness.

Thats damn criminal. If you have your home insured with them for the last 30 years, and build a new home next door, they wont insure the new home...take your business elsewhere.
If you sell in louisiana, you should have to offer ALL products to all people.

Supposedly in this country, you arent supposed to be able to discriminate who you do business with.

Nothing is going to happen. That's why people are leaving. We are populated and governed by crooked people.

What did the tort reform bill provide? Do you have a link to the details?

$421 a month for 3 vehicles here.
2017 Toyota Tundra
2018 Volvo S90
2018 Toyota Corolla
Over $5000 a year to basically drive to work/school & home for a family of 3.

The people of Louisiana don't want good government. They want pretty good government. Laissez les bons temps rouler.

My point was to the the poster that tried to use the $8.8 billion is some lofty number when that’s barely a 10% margin.

Never mind in 2017 they had a 2% margin.

JBE and the ambulance chasers in the senate couldn't risk pissing off their owners. That's why they had the bill killed.

you really think JBE can get a majority in the primary?

There has not been one single poll that has him getting the necessary 50.1 percent to win outright in the first round. Not a single one.

He's stuck anywhere from 41 to 45%.

It's likely this election goes to a runoff and when that happens, he will have to contend with a united GOP base and Trump and Pence coming to town to lay the hammer down on him.

This is not going to be a repeat of 2015 when two RINOs gored the frick out of a legit conservative in Vitter enabling JBE to win.

Looking at you Jindal

Jindal's biggest failures aren't from what he actually did in office, it's from what he chose not to do, didn't care about and abandoning this state to chase dead in the water presidential runs.

Bobby Jindal is a piece of shite that deserves the political oblivion and irrelevancy he's in right now.
