When you let illegals get a drivers license (how on earth did we get to that point), and then use the DMV as the mailing list for voting. That is where the civil rights division of the DOJ should intervene to stop the voting process.

The voters rights act (thats all voters not just minorities)

If you chose to let an illegal get a license, then federal law should prohibit any mail in voting, and certainly not using the DMV list.

My wife is a naturalized citizen. She wouldn't think twice about it.

just explaining the premise (which most posters in this thread do not seem to understand), Smeg, not defending it.

I suspect that the premise is mostly applicable to brown people who speak marginal English. it seems unlikely that a pretty blonde Eastern European with a cute accent would share the same concerns.

They should be. Illegals can't vote in federal elections, so that won't be an issue, but it could really harm local and state races in blue areas.
